So ‘ rent’ , utilities etc is paid for . You do realise that some pensioners are faced with the decision to eat or heat , don’t you ? I notice that you have been somewhat high handed when a particular mod friend has the same attitude about single mothers and people of working age drawing benefit . AFAIK all they get in cash to feed themselves on. I'm not saying they should get more or bettirrationalent at Manston followed by a down market B&B but this whole 'better off than pensioners' line just doesn't ring true. A UK pensioner can't be on less than £182.60 a week if single, £278.70 if with a partner. So ‘ rent’ , utilities etc is paid for . Pensioners have contributed to this country all their lives, they have paid tax and NI for 50+ years. Compare that to the group who are most likely to live on benefits in this country, any guesses? That's right, 'Bangladeshi and black ethnic groups' are most likely to claim benefits. And what about the tens of thousands of illegals who have never contributed one thin penny to this country, yet their hotel bills are currently running at £7 million a day. All paid for by tax payers. We are mad in this country. The government are so politically correct they're ignoring people who have paid into the system all their lives in favour of minorities and I'll tell you this TTL, if Labour get in next time, I predict real trouble because people, the majority, have had enough of being shoved to the back of the queue in favour of minorities. |

But what about the old aged woman who never worked in there lifes and still get full state pension during the 50s/60s only 33% woman worked that was mainly part time work .
The Good wife was the house keeper and the man the bread winner Remember then days.

I remember those and earlier days, I remember when millions of women worked during the war and many did dangerous volunteer jobs. Yes many worked during the war my mother worked in ammunitions factory .But like the Marjorty of woman she went back to the housework .
Im sure you know that im well aware of the wartime situation thats why I said during the 50sand 60s. Them that worked during the war are mostly dead now and not in reseate of state pension .
