But the problem is that wasn't enough and the workload is increasing at a faster pace so the shortfalls are getting worse and worse. Oh and 'nurses working in the NHS' isn't the same as NHS nurses, many of them are contractors now

We are rapidly approaching when there will have more staff than patients, so the NHS has resorted to importing them.

Some years ago I had an appointment with an hospital consultant. I checked him out online ... and found that back in 1999, shortly after he'd qualified as a Consultant, he'd been arrested in a pharmacy whilst attempting to obtain drugs with a stolen prescription. He was heavily fined ... and suspended for 6 months. He left the country and worked in Saudia Arabia for ten years ... then returned to Britain as a specialist and worked in private practice before eventually working for the NHS again. The NHS is certainly not perfect, not helped by either Brexit or the handling of the NHS by the government. Oh FFS are you serious? You reckon the NHS is on it's knees because of Brexit! Really? So by your reasoning the NHS would be in rude health if we were still in the EU? Steve get in the bin. The NHS is on it's knees because of over demand, too many people are using it who have never paid one thin penny in tax or NI. It's run by managers rather than doctors, and the government are terrified to sort it out because Labour have weaponised it.

Must be the drink Toreador, it gives Red those terrible dreams. Now he's confusing me with See2. Very sad case when drink rots someone's brain.

Well at least the NHS is concentrating on the priorities, with more money and staff than they ever had its great to see that treating the record numbers waiting for treatment is the only thing they are concerned about.

Jonsky Yes read that in the media quite recently newly qualified Junior Doctors hiring themselves out as GP Locums being paid ยฃ17,000 a month
The NHS is the largest employer in Europe which means it has a large turn over of staff every year, it employs 1.4 million people in various roles obviously not all of them are Nurse, or Doctors most of those working in the NHS are British Citizens either born here or applied for and granted British Citizenship, when Brexit arrived at long last EU Citizens living and working in various roles the UK were told to apply to stay here which many did and still here legally
Out of the entire NHS workforce of 1.4 million only 222,000 are not British Citizens
