At current prices the health and social care budget for England has risen from £129.7 billion in 2009/10 to £180.2 billion in 2022/23 — a real-terms increase of 39 per cent. The number of doctors working in the NHS has increased from 94,337 to 127,890 over the same period, and the number of nurses from 281,609 to 319,383. Resources dont seem to be the issue.  edit: - out of interest the population has risen by 10% in that timescale. |
