Well the NHS CEO only gets £260k a year - you cannot expect any actual management for that sort of money..

If he was capable of thinking he wouldn't be asking such dumb arse questions.

If he was capable of thinking he wouldn't be asking such dumb arse questions. Do take a day of from being the village idiot.
The NHS is top heavy with overpaid management, so it's hardly radical to expect them to actually manage.

You have already taken the posting job of being the village idiot. It clearly shows in your avatar.

For those in the know, admittedly not that many, Redwoods ultimate gaffe was nothing to do with singing an anthem
Carmarthen ‘boasts’ a massive civil service waste of space formerly part of the Welsh Office when my wife worked for them when she was merely my fiancée. This edifice is now filled largely with the Welsh Assembly’s provisional wing
But it was within sight of that building that Redwood announced his big idea of Road Pricing
And showed to the world the truth of the saying about those ignorant of history being damned to repeat the mistakes made by their predecessors
For the Turnpikes became a focus for the hatred of the people when the tolls to take a wagon of goods to market ate away at the proceeds to the point it was no longer worth doing.
Thus were the Rebecca Riots born, and the street Redwood stood in to announce his master plan was amended by the first to feel the wrath of ‘Rebecca’
What a tosser.

This is true.
However the issue is not about managers managing...it's about Redwood's inability to grasp that it doesn't matter how many more beds some MBA type might arrange to have made available, beds need staff.
You can put as many beds in as space will allow, but if senior nurses don't have enough staff to provide care to people in those beds, they will stay empty.

That is also true but if nurses and other clinicians didn't have the heavy load of administrative work they could actually do more of the work they're really there for. I had my annual systoscopy a couple of months ago. They could have either sent me a questionaire to complete or better still a list of my pervious answers and then ask has anything changed. Then I have to sign a form exonerating them if I die..............ffs. I don't know what they'll do after next year when my ten year programme finishes; I may send them a cardboard cut-out.

Ah Nigel. The forum one line wonder. You are hilarious. A joke a minute. Imagine you asking people to take a day of from being the village idiot. Guffaw. Guffaw. Guffaw. I wonder what village idiots rant that right wing neo Nazis and fascists are left wing. And deadly serious about it. Or what village idiot as he tries to insist the square wheel works, as he defies gravity by insisting if you cut the bottom of a door it will not increase air flow. Ah well gas engineers get it wrong every day. What was that about village idiots, meaningless diatribe from the Keyboard Diarrhoeaist. Its more than clear the Civil Service is bottom heavy with Rectumholes.. . Why d'ye reckon that is?

If he was capable of thinking he wouldn't be asking such dumb arse questions. Quite Seems John Redwood and Middle are unable to work out that it has to be a bed supported by a building, equipment, heating, lighting and above all qualified staff to support it. Bit like having a driving seat and steering wheel and pretending it's a car

Because if they aren't managing staff and they aren't managing resources then one might ask what exactly it is that they are managing because it doesn't sound like it's much.

Because if they aren't managing staff and they aren't managing resources then one might ask what exactly it is that they are managing because it doesn't sound like it's much. Well for a start they are woefully short of staff compared to the ever increasing workload from an ageing population. Then you have the issue that they can't discharge so many patients because we have underfunded the Care sector again for that ageing population But just wheeling in more beds will do nothing other than clutter up corridors
