In American elections it is "the norm" for President's party to control both The Senate and The House when first elected ... only to lose control of one or the other, or both come the mid-term elections. Apparently the last President to maintain overall control was Carter back in 1969. So now Trump has, in order to go down in history as a successful President, to fulfill his promises.

And supervised by Americans.... Of course the supervisors would have been Americans. The Americans were the employers, but Americans didn't want to do the labour, so they brought in thousands of Chinese and exploited them, same as they do today with Mexicans. That's what keeps the prices low at the grocery stores. The Chinese were only too pleased to Emmigrate to the USA. It's the same in the USA as it is in the UK Americans can be fined for employing illegal immigrants. So of course illegal immagrants do not receive the same number of benefits as a normal legal worker.. |

Immigrant unskilled labourers of any nationality are exploited in the US, not just the Chinese who built the railroad, and they were most definitely exploited.
