I think if the Amish want to give raw milk to their own families and the small amount of people who pass through Dutch Pennsylvanian Amish communities to specifically buy raw milk, which they have to very specifically want and do, which will be clearly labelled, then they know what they are getting into and the idea that the government should regulate tiny closed communities that people have to very specifically travel to to get such a specific thing is odd
Not that I am condemning the govt, or anyone else

But is it fair that law abiding farmers have to buy a permit to do that while others get to break the rules? If they're going to allow some farmers to sell raw milk products, they should refund the ones who bought permits.

The largest landowner is actually the government here, the problem is that we live under governments who control the rules and everything we do. It's well and good to say if you don't like it sod off and go and live in North Korea, but for people born here (like the Amish for example) who have been here for generations and generations, who are living on their own land doing their own thing and truly not harming anyone else nor seeking to change anyone else, their beliefs, the way they live etc - is that right?
All our govts dictate the way we must do everything, we aren't left alone, we aren't allowed to do simple stuff we like and we're being indoctrinated by insane woke nonsense, insane modern living is being forced on us whether we like it or not. You're a bigot if you don't agree with this or that now.
Is it really any wonder people are sick of it and thinking of electing Trump? And it's no good saying I have a part in that, because as things stand I'm not eligible to vote yet and I wouldn't vote for them anyway

The MoD used to be a huge landowner, I don't know how much they have flogged off. I remember places like Warcop, Otterburn, Thetford, and Salisbury Plain, even back in the day environmental groups used to complain that army training on these areas endangered butterflies and interesting weeds. I often used to think to myself; these people have no understanding of 'priorities'. And they still don't, and they never will because they have no concept of war.

That all applies to me
I have absolutely no concept of war
All I know is that a world war, such as it is, with our modern nuclear technology will almost certainly mean deaths of billions hence why it should be avoided

To explain it to then you have unwind their training and remind them that the government is just another group of primates and that law is supposed to help people, not be a reflection of power over others

Four federal agencies manage all of the roughly 28% of federally owned land for various purposes described in more detail in the link below. "The federal government manages land for conservation, recreation, fish and wildlife protection, and natural resource development, including limited oil and natural gas development and timber production. As of 2015, the federal government owned between 635 million to 640 million acres (28 percent) of the estimated 2.27 billion acres in the United States. By comparison, the federal government owned 1.8 billion acres (79 percent) of land in the United States in 1867. Throughout the 19th century, the federal government transferred two-thirds of the 1.8 billion acres of federal land to individuals, state governments, corporations, and businesses to encourage land development and settlement. Since the beginning of the 20th century, federal lands have generally remained under federal ownership. In 1976, Congress passed the Federal Land Policy and Management Act, which declared that the remaining federal lands would stay under federal ownership." ballotpedia.org/Federal_land_policy

You are entitled to your opinion. The basis of the EU is to raise the economic levels of its members. As, when or if, the EU gradually gets its act together, it will become economically stronger to the point that it will be necessary for it to be able to defend itself and to defend democracy with all its freedoms, freedoms that don't exist in dictatorship countries. you mean the same freedoms that forces its members to take in migrants, they can't opt out because the EU says so, and you talk about dictatorships, thankfully it looks like Italy have given them the two finger salute, with a fuck you EU we are shipping migrants to Albania and we don't give a shit what you say ... Good on Italy. The deputy PM of Poland made it clear in 21 when he said the EU is attempting to build the "German Forth Reich" but compared it to the first, Rome. It explains everything and why our lot are risking nuclear war to support the Reich, its expansion and our national and cultural annihilation, which will all result in the UK being nothing more than a zone in this German Reich ruled by a bureaucracy. Going by Labour's behaviour I doubt they care about democracy. Who knows what their long-term plans have in store for us, but I'm sure we'll find out soon enough.
As we can see, Starmer's drones on here are devout EUphiles.

I had not know, for instance, that the volume of federally managed land has decreased by so much or why. I also found it interesting to read about the purposes to which the land is put, and so on. How long have you lived in the US?

Oh ok, well I was wondering if my post had given a misleading impression or something The land lotteries are well known about here, but the US govt still controls much and land is actually regularly seized with arguably undemocratic means here. A lot of asset repossession occurs or "asset forfeiture" as they call it en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asset_forfeitureThe idea that land is majority privately owned and you can do more or less what you like with it is really not true in practice, it's heavily regulated and controlled by govt and it's not really that hard for them to seize it

Typically these forfeitures are linked to criminal enterprise, the objective being to deprive the criminal enterprise of a means to perpetrate the crime. Canada and the UK have similar laws.

Not really, civil asset forfeiture's 'valid reasons' are often absolutely depised and abused here
