The new Conservative leader will either be Robert Jenrick or Kemi Badenoch, and the Lib Dems in particular are rubbing their hands with glee.
Some observers have likened the situation as "an early Christmas present" for Labour and the Lib Dems, both are on the Right wing of the party with some very contoversial views, so much so that the TRG Tory Reform Group have refused to endorse either of the candidates, with many moderates threataning to tear up their voting papers.
According to most commentaters, Kemi Badenoch is the favourite amongst Tory Party members, but NOT amongst most Tory Party voters, for whom James Cleverly was the favourite.
Mrs Badench is known for many things, in particular her hostile views on the LGBT community, something which comes naturally to so called "Christians" from Nigeria, or of Nigerian heritage.
Even many Conservatives have likened the situation as the begining of the fall of Rome, one thing is now absolutely certain, the Tory civil war will get much worse, and with Reform UK on the sidelines, will there be a split, wil the Tory Party survive in its current form.

You simply cant think outside of the two party box ,thats despite what has happened to labour in scotland , losing to the snp , and in england , the rise of skip/brexit/reform. I dont think many outside of the partisan new Labour Party take either jenrick or badenoch seriously. labour are losing many voters to reform and the tories ,which is why starmer keeps going further to the right than many previous labour leaders. I mean this is just deflection from the obvious civil war in labour just now , between gray and mcsweeny . Not to mention the old socialists and blairites , of the left and right of the party , the Israel and muslim factions and all the rest. From where im sitting the civil war looks worse among labour than any other party. |

Whatever happens in the next 5 years, Reform Uk will not be the governing party in 2029, simply because in our FPTP system its impossible to jump from 5 MPs to over 320 MPs, but it is possible for Reform UK to further increase their numbers in The House of Commons.
Looking at where Reform UK came second, and did well, the very best they might do would be approaching 100 seats, and for this to happen I guess Labour would need to do a really bad job of government, fail to tackle the problems in our NHS, fail to deal with the immigration situation, and for growth to remain as bad as it has under the Tories, with little economic improvement.
As for Kemi Badenoch and her political and social views, yes some of her views must be influenced by her Nigerian background, Christians are very orthodox in Nigeria, the Anglican Church opposes women preists, and in some Nigerian regions Homosexuality is punishable by death.
Those on the Left who oppose Labour are mostly outside the party these days, people like Corbyn and Galloway, with only a small handful of MPs such as Abbot and Burgon.
