Agree, but I think this was their grand plan, Starmer was always the fall guy, he's making all the unpleasant cuts, Rayner is quiet in the background sitting on the sidelines like a praying mantis, watching Starmer dig and dig himself deeper and deeper in a hole ... then she will pounce, vote of no confidence in Starmer ... you can see it coming a mile off. Angela Rayner..... The uks version of Kamala Harris , only less intelligent...........honestly, if labour put her in place as leader and prime minster then we really will know Rome has fallen. As the ''elected'' union plant she's the only one who can't be fired (without a GE) When Sir Kneeler of the free Gear tried it - she was back in hour with even more power

If so , and starmer falls in the near future , it will be fun watching her become party leader and prime minister. There's many politicians in the past I have disliked , and not supported their politics , but have given them grudging admiration for their qualities as politicians , but at the minute , the bar is so low , I cant see anything to admire in politicians like Angela Rayner.

As I have posted all along, I'm not in favour of the withdrawal of the WFA. So clean your mouth and your mind out before you make a reference to me. Only a sick mind would say it would be a nice Christmas present for pensioners if they got their winter fuel allowance reinstated, something that should never have been taken away in the first place, and they should be 'thank the Labour party' ... I'll tell you something, I bet if the Tories had won the GE it would never have crossed their minds to stop winter fuel payments for pensioners, now you wash your mouth out, and get a moral backbone and stop defending the indefensible. Plus an increase in their pension, either quote me fully or don't quote me at all.

IF it takes two months it will be a nice Christmas present. And in the meantime Rachel and other labour MPs continue to claim heating allowance (£4400 over past 5 years for her - Liam byrne c.£18000, Qureshi c.12000 , Shah c.10000, Rayner 5000) I take it you are not referring to making such claims for their normal dwelling house We don't actually know how many will be or might be in trouble. I'm 85 my wife of 60 years is 82, we will be wrapping ourselves up in extra warm clothing and we both own a Throw, a warm small blanket designed for use while sitting down. That is what we will be using if the whether gets really cold.

Its not surprising that other Political Parties have to step up to repair the damage that Labour have done.

Introduced by the former Tory government, the scheme provides local councils with pots of cash, which they then use to provide cost of living support to people in their areas.
Dunno if maths was on the curriculum when you went to school in the dark ages ( maybe it was called adding up or arithmetic?) but 120 has always been a lower figure than either 200 or 300 Those now in receipt of the Tory's additional funds to councils (some of which are using it for OAPs) could now receive either £80 or £180 (age dependent) LESS than the WFA allowance denied to them by Granny Freezer Reeves and Sir Free Gear

Tory government funding, now this government's funding, was there before the cut in WFA, but totally ignored by the whingers, who could not see the full picture. Your post ends with the typical 'Dark Legend' denigration that is part of, and has always been part of, Rightist DNA.

So the Tories stepping in to mitigate the damage done by Labour.. Nope, this government now funding the help where it is needed. stop lying and read your own link.. The Conservative-controlled council said it was going to use £1.15million of its funding to help residents in the area "keep warm". Of its cash pot, the council will use £750,000 to work with organisations and charities, such as Age UK and Citizens Advice Bureau, to identify pensioners who just missed out on eligibility for Pension Credit or have "higher than average" fuel costs due to a disability.
You should be asking yourself why Labour controlled councils are not doing anything to protect vulnerable pensioners this winter.

OF ITS FUNDING.The cash referred to is government cash, used for specific purposes. I don't know whether or not any Labour councils have received the same funding, or if they have will they help deserving cases. Do you?
