Anyone who thinks that the answer to racism is more racism …..is a racist.

It is like you ignore what I write. I am not denying there is racism, I am not saying that racism was not a significant problem for ethnic minorities but we made that racial discrimination illegal and it has been illegal for over 50 years. So legal protection has been in place for ethnic minorities for over 50 years. What you are saying is that racism was still at work all during that period and we must carry out corrections to counter the effects of that racism and we must do that of necessity on people who have not been found guilty of any race crime and have identical human rights to all other UK citizens, or at least should have. You are upset at a denial of human rights for individuals discriminated against because of their race but are perfectly fine with people being discriminated against because of their race. In terms of morality this makes no sense. To be clear no one is bound except by law as regards the human rights of others but government is bound by the Human rights of all citizens. Making it illegal has not sorted the problem out, hence further actions are necessary. Racism was and is still at work. So obviously a little temporary push in the right direction is likely to help. And few reasonable people are likely to complain, spinning it into reverse racism. If after 50years of failure you wish to complain, then you need to come up with an answer, otherwise you are seen to be condoning racism. Theft has been illegal for thousands of years yet still occurs frequently, what we do not do is steal off innocent people to compensate those who have been victims of theft. I do not think anyone is condoning theft if they do not come up with an answer. We also have the problem as regards racism that assumptions are made as regards who is a victim of racism based solely on the colour of their skin and to make it worse as the perpetrators of that racism based solely on the colour of their skin. The evidence you present that racism still occurs in anything other than small doses seems to be largely that representation is below that which one would expect of specific races yet we know where merit is the sole consideration in places like sports then merit selection throws up disparities in representation. If racism occurs apply the legal process that is the answer you seek, if it is not racism then that tends not to work.

I can't vouch for the following its just something I picked up from a Local Newspaper I sometimes read. A remarkable milestone achieved in the production of clean electricity. "August 2024 saw the lowest monthly level of electricity generation by burning fossil fuels for over a century. Wind turbines plying a staring role. Wind and Solar energy combined provided more than double the power of Gas and Coal in August. Total emissions from electricity generation in the year to August were almost halved when compared with 2019. This month the UK closed the last coal plant used for generating electricity, a year early. I think you're wasting your time see2. Just look at the response, One wind turbine fails and they all shout there you go. Its like a drunken pub.

I suppose it depends how long it's been since he listened to a sermon from saint Greta of Thunberg.

Yeah sure. You're so deep in you can't even see the stupidity anymore. Another slow day on the bore 'em forum, Zany? I look in at both, but you must agree activity here accelerates hugely when I challenge the prevailing views. And I don't charge anything for it. The idiots on here do everything they can to drive away anyone who disagrees with them, I'm sure that's not good for the forum. The pages filled with, I quote "all net zero gobshites are insain." Can't even be that exciting for you. I'll leave that with you.
