The people of the Falkland Islands wish to remain British citizens, as do the people of Gibraltar, and this cannot be connected to the disgracefull way in which the UK treated the inhabitants of The Chagos Islands. Its people that matter NOT geography The Chagosian people have campaigned for decades for a fair outcome, and for recognition of what this country did to them. The UK purposely created The British Indian Ocean Territory as a separate colony to Mauritius for the sole purpose of leasing the largest island to the Yanks, the Chagos Islands always were part of Mauritius, and the International Court of Justice has ordered for them to be returned. The Primeminister does not have to answer to anyone over abiding by an international court ruling, least of all that shithouse Nigel Farage. You're talking rubbish. The Chagosians were not involved in any talks and were not consulted, however in the light of Starmer giving away sovereign British territory without the permission of the British parliament, it has emerged that many Chagosians do not want to relocate to the Chagos Islands and those who may be willing to return have said they will only relocate if they can retain British citizenship. In other words, fuck Mauritius. As for Mauritius, it's a corrupt country that's heavily influenced and in financial debt to Beijing. Starmer should not resign. He should be dismissed and charged with crimes against the United Kingdom. The man is incompetent and clearly out of his depth. It was NOT sovereign British territory. It was illegally held territory that we were in violation of International Law in maintaining control of. An China owns $600 Billion of UK debt - so technically we are at risk of being overly influenced by China; for example, the 2015 State Visit by Xi Jinping which should never have been permitted to go ahead given China's many, many human rights violations. All The Best

Where is this "change" Starmer promised? lol.
He seems to be on a quest to do everything he accused the Tories of... which is very bizarre as his attacks on the Tories can be held up in his face whilst everybody shouts HYPOCRITE lol.
I thought Rayner would stab in him back after 12 months, but at this rate he won't make it past Christmas lol.

Yup, Starmer is proving to be a huge liability for Labour, and British Politics in general. Just more of the same self-interested sleaze we got under the Tories. All The Best

I hate to point it out but it was the Labour Party who expelled the Chagosians in the first place. Reading up a bit, I'm not entirely sure that's true, or at least it's not the whole story The militarisation of the atoll took place over a number of years in the thick of the see-sawing between the Heath and Wilson governments, and I will accept that Wilson did not deviate from the course set. But unless I've seriously screwed my dates up the executive order making it illegal to occupy the islands and paving the way for deportation dates to heath's 1971 government according to the stuff I found on sites describing the measures taken Cheers ....

The agreement to allow the US to take over control of Diego Garcia was signed in 1966 by Wilson - in exchange for a discount on nuclear missiles. The expulsions of the inhabitants started in 1968.

Can ANYONE please explain what it is that Farage wants ?
I mean, for what possible purpose to the advantage of the UK could owning an Atol, a group of remote islands in the Indian Ocean be to the UK. ?
Why does Farage not grasp or understand that the deal as negotiated between Mauritius and the UK solves almost all of the outstanding issues - Mauritius regains sovereignty of its stolen territory - the islanders can now go home if they wish to - the United States retains its base - the UK is no longer in conflict with the UN, the International Court and the government of Mauritius.
The government are to be congratulated on solving a long standing dispute which has dragged on for 50 years

So you claim that some of the islanders wanted to remain British citizens ? Many already are British citizens, and I reckon if those who are not British citizens applied for citizenship, it would be highly likely they would be given citizenship. If however you mean that SOME of the islanders want to remain British citizens living on The Chagos Islands as an overseas territory of the United Kingdom, this would not end the dispute. This would be the equivelant of the UK giving West Falkland to Argentina, and retaining East Falkland - Mauritius is Mauritius, in its entirety, including the Chagos Islands. The same as The Falkland Islands are The Falkland Islands, in their entirety. I dont know the actual answer, but I am willing to bet a pound to a dollar that most of the Chagosians do not have a very good opinion of the UK or what the UK did to them, and I reckon British citizenship is not important to the vast majority, why should it be. ?

We are going around in f***ing circles here What do you think would have been the outcome if this had of been put to Parliament, and ended in a vote ? I know the answer to that question, but do you. ? Starmer did not have to put this before Parliament, it was a decision which fullfilled our international obligations, and solved a long running dispute, ending a conflict between the UK with Mauritius, the U.N and the International Court. The outcome has satisfied almost everyone, but not shithouse Farage, but who cares.

Yes and when witchfinder asks what Farage wants probably the same as Hoyle the HoC to be informed and allowed to speak.which Steamer finds a difficult concept to grasp now he’s the Fuhrer

No point in having a Parliament then, we should just leave Starmer, Raynor, Lammy and Reeves to run the Country on their own as they see fit I suppose. Starmer is as evil as Blair, both wish to do the Country done. I dare say China gave Starmer free tickets to Love Island if he handed the keys over. Why is it that Rightists can't debate without lies and denigration? I know. Much of it is not even worth engaging with intelligently. I am very selective in what I respond to on this forum, mostly leaving them to mutter between themselves when they are talking obvious shite. And the ones who repeatedly set out merely to provoke and insult in the absence of any more intelligent response just get blocked so I don't even see it anymore. And of course they include amongst their number such intellectual giants as Jonksy, who remains unblocked purely because I find his shite funny from time to time.
