She's not a Tory, just watch some of the clips when Johnson was Prime Minister, every time she mentions his name her face goes all contorted and disfigured, like something out of a Hammer House of Horrors. That is surely how any decent person, Tory or otherwise, who cares about integrity and honesty in public life, would have behaved in that situation back then.

Well let's hope next time she's interviewing or refers to Starmer her face has the same hideous expression when the death toll comes in for how many pensioners have died over the winter because of the Starmer cuts to their winter fuel allowance, Starmer will finish off far more pensioners than Boris allegedly was accused of.

It won’t, or at least it shouldn’t, because whatever Starmer may or may not have done, he is essentially a decent and honourable man, certainly when juxtaposed alongside Johnson, who lacked the basic qualities to render him fit for any public position, never mind that of Prime Minister, as no PM before or after him has ever done.

Well if you say so, but it seems the Conservatives are not Conservatives and Labour are not Labour, personally I am thinking neither of them are nor can be considered honourable.

LOL When we see Starmer being forced out of office and resigning his parliamentary seat to avoid being publicly disgraced for repeatedly and seriously lying to parliament, and when we see Starmer being condemned in court for unlawfully proroguing parliament as Johnson did to close down political opposition, then maybe you will have something to laugh about, but until then this is something that no decent person who cares about integrity and honesty in public life could possibly find funny. It is pretty clear what that says about you guys.

Starmer is taking bungs left, right and center, he's nick named Mr Freebie, and when Starmer kills off a load of pensioners because he has cut their winter fuel allowance, he will not have the integrity, decency, or morals to resign and hang his head in shame, he will be kicking and screaming trying to keep hold of his job.

Not to mention reneging on practically every pledge he's ever made.
Honesty & integrity? Jeez...

It's mind boggling what some people come out with, Honesty & integrity is something Starmer never had in the first place to lose it, he's the most dishonest underhanded, sneaky, leader this country has every had the misfortune to have.

Hence the excuse that Starmer is no worse than Johnson isn’t going to wash.

Is that really his nickname or does it only exist in your head? It has always been the parliamentary norm that MPs receive offers of hospitality and gifts, and just as much the norm that some of these offers are accepted. We can argue about the merits of the system but it is unreasonable and partisan to single out Starmer for criticism here, particularly when he is clearly attempting to be transparent about what he is offered and what is accepted. The WFA cut is quite right in principle. A significant proportion of our pensioners simply don’t need it so why should we be expected to provide it to them? I certainly don’t need it nor do any of my pension age mates, some of whom still have six figure incomes, so why should any of us receive it? The only mistake is that the qualifying ceiling has been set too low and there is a brutal cliff edge that is very unfair to those whose income is just above that ceiling. I understand, given that Labour uncovered a £22 billion current year fiscal black hole that the Tories had been keeping under wraps, that unpalatable choices and lose/lose decisions had to be made about what remains of the current year spending plans, and that these have to be introduced quickly and that they are therefore likely to be unrefined and clunky, but even so, as this plan stands, it still needs softening around the edges. There has already been a bit of this and I am pretty sure that we shall see something more substantial announced in next month’s budget. Let’s see what happens. Can I ask, as you seem to be so worried about what this might mean for some of our poorer pensioners, were you equally as concerned about the plight of struggling families and our vulnerable fellow citizens resulting from the austerity measures introduced over the last 14 years of Tory government or does your social conscience only kick in selectively?
