The heat allowance snatch is just the start for pensioners and people saving for pensions . I’ve been told that the smart money is on less tax relief for pension contributions and maybe a limit to the tax free money when one cashes a pension pot . I suspect a house tax in the form of higher levels of council tax…. and a higher tax in fuel and alcohol. Don’t forget the coming mileage charge I’ve heard of a gas boiler tax which I assume is a surcharge on the price of new gas boilers too. The net zero bandwagon has had a turbo fitted …there is 6000 acres of good farmland near me that is being allocated for solar power . It’s a done deal but we are being ‘ consulted’ ffs. We have Starmer going on about ‘ right wing ‘ thugs ( iirc) with not a peep about Muslim thugs . We have Labour telling us that there will be many difficult decisions to be made in the future but not emphasising that they will be difficult for us , not them .

Power has gone to Starmer's head, along with Rayner and Reeves, they will soon come down to earth with a thud, Starmer thinking he can fuck about with the Unions he's delusional, once the Unions turn on him he may as well pack his bags, the dumbo doesn't realise it yet, that it was never going to be him running the country once Labour got in, he was just a useful idiot getting them in to power.

I don't understand Starmer and Reeves, it's basic economics that business / consumer confidence is everything.
All this doom and gloom is going to put the country into recession, and why the long wait for budget? Businesses and Consumers are holding off on purchases / investment in case the budget is bad.
The Treasury has already confirmed what everybody with half a brain already knew, scrapping non-dom is going to cost money, not raise it... because shock horror, rich people don't want their income taxed twice lol.
Fucking with pensions and capital gains is going to destroy investment... but like scrapping non-dom and attacking private schools, it is all about LOOKING GOOD and nothing to do with economics.

This government is just like the last government. Shit. I agree, the Tories lost their way there's no doubt about it. But in all honesty, I have to say I don't think the previous government are quite as bad as this lot, and I still say Starmer wont last 12 months.

I must admit I am surprised that Starmer has got so unpopular so fast - I would have expected a longer honeymoon than a couple of weeks.
The bad economic decisions and the sleaze revelations show that Labours unpopularity is all self inflicted. It certainly is not due to effective opposition which has been non-existant so far.

Labour are doing what the Tories lost the election over, they are turning on themselves, and the fall guy will be Starmer, the only worrying thing about Starmer getting the boot is who will replace him, we'll be going from the frying pan into the fire.

It will indeed be a case of out of the frying pan... largely because Labours 'top team' are out of their depth, they are totally inexperienced. Look at them, Starmer, Reeves, Rayner, Cooper, Lammy etc, these people are our senior politicians and diplomats and they are all rank amateurs, and it shows.

Agreed, but hopefully that will change once Sunak has been replaced. What wont change is the fact that Labour won a loveless landslide because the Tories were unpopular, and Labour are proving to be even more unpopular. This is manna from heaven for Farage and Reform UK.

They are out of their depth, and not just on the front bench, Labour have no heavyweights no big beasts on their backbenches either. The parliamentary Labour party is full of young woke inexperienced people the vast majority of whom will I'm sure be one term MP's.

Yes there were a few, I seem to remember Frank Field was pretty good, and Dennis Skinner was always good value.

I don't think blair would have had a look in prior to his death he came across as a man with integrity that's more than you can say about those who make up labour now..

Yes, this Labour party is the worst in History, I thought the Blair regime was bad enough, but Starmer and this lot are a law unto themselves, they are arrogant and have contempt for the British people, all they are doing is feathering their own nests, and using tax payers money to fund their own personal crusades, the British people have been well and truly conned by despicable Labour government.
