Because of the long history of nastiness by the Tories. There is no 'knowledge' that the absence of WFA alone for some, WILL kill 4,000 PENSIONERS.
Are you saying the Labour Party are lying? Of course not, but if you are claiming that the Labour party has stated "it will kill 4,000 pensioners" I would like to see the evidence of that claim.

Castro/ Che Guevara, Maoist China ,Cambodia,Stalinist USSR, Venezuela ( The United Nations (UN) and Human Rights Watch estimate that more than 20,000 people have been victims of extrajudicial killings under the administration of President Nicolás Maduro). That makes seven extremists countries in the Western world, four Right-Wing ones and two left wing ones. BUT my post was about Right-Wing politics and the dangers of the present trend of swinging to the Right of politics. I have always accepted that the extremes of the left of politics are as bad as the extremes of the right, but that is a different debate. So your post is a deviation from the post you replied to. Nope. You looking through blinkers and ignoring anything other than your world view . Whatever dirt you can dig up about right wing politics and right wing regimes , there is at least the equivalent dirt on left wing politics and left wing regimes . You just want to concentrate on your own bias worldview instead of seeing the full picture .

Labour said winter fuel cuts could kill 4,000 people in 2017

More disingenuous shit from see2 . I repeat “Labour research from 2017 claimed Tory plans to scrap the winter fuel payment for better-off pensioners could lead to almost 4,000 additional deaths over winter.” www.theguardian.com/politics/2024/sep/12/no-winter-fuel-payments-impact-assessment-was-carried-out-no-10-admits?CMP=Share_iOSApp_OtherNote that this is 2017. Energy prices are a lot higher now. Labour predicted a high death rate of pensioners if fuel payments were scrapped but still did it .

A debate should consider both sides of a premise . Debate isn’t about indulging a poster who only wants to discuss a lop sided argument and only that.

So the word is COULD, not WILL. i.e. a suggestion, no doubt made for political purposes. Claim: Labour’s own analysis said 4,000 pensioners could die if winter fuel payments are cut The figures were published during the 2017 election campaign, when Jeremy Corbyn led the party. At the time, then-prime minister Theresa May said the payments would be removed from all but the poorest pensioners.
So there was some agreement on both sides of the aisle.

I also posted "that is another debate" So I am willing to debate all aspects of extremist politics. The point of my earlier post was to recognise and beware of the move to the right in the Western hemisphere. Which is a perfectly reasonable point worth discussion, mind you Rightists might not like it

You want rant about beastly rightists without the being reminded of the tiresome fact that everything you say about the right can be said about the left .

Pacifico did, and that was what started the ball rolling. So one again you got things wrong.
