I repeat Labour won the election, remind me again what was said to the 48% who voted Remain when they complained that they weren't being listened to. Take your own advice. Well you might have an argument if the percentages were anywhere near that of the referendum but they aren’t so you don’t. Starmer was elected on a minority vote you can argue till you’re blue in the face but that’s a fact, probably unpalatable to you but a fact nonetheless. We don't elect a government based on percentage vote we elect a government based on the number of seats won and Labour won by a landslide on that basis. You can argue until you're blue in the face but that's a fact. You'll have another chance in 5 years or so. You lost, get over it.

Labour won the election with a vote that was nowhere near 52%. Recognising that fact would be a good starting point for them. I recall all the antics post referendum whereby the campaign continued. People did not vote to be poorer (well yes they may have done), Brexiteers have stolen the futures of our youngsters (changed them yes but every government does that). It was a yes no question in or out deal or no deal and no deal won. A middle way is not a way at all it is EU lite. In the general election every party had an immigration policy and every party had a small boats policy. The first month under Labour saw the policies enacted to dispense with Rwanda and to deal with the 100,000 in Limbo, no progress was made on the flagship, 'smash the gangs' and the channel was awash with small boats cheering Starmer and Labour. The clear perception is that despite having polices to deal with both legal and illegal migration Labour are intent on carrying on in the same old way against the clear wishes of the majority of the electorate and against their own stated policies. See my post above.

I have seen it, I have answered it if you cannot see the difference in a referendum with a yes no question and the seeking of power through the ballot box in an election then there is little hope for you. In the referendum people voted to leave, in the general election Labour came out with control but you can also see what people voted for and it is idiocy to ignore that but I suppose that is politics for you. Starmer is ignoring it and will get his fingers burnt pretty badly. The left have been telling us such things for years, Thatcher never had a majority, when you become an MP you represent all your constituents. These are bitter cries I have heard from the left the last twenty years.

You lost, get over it. For goodness sake I have no issue with Labour forming the government and I realistically have no issue with FPTP and have never complained about it. All I am saying is that a party that forms a strong government in parliament with such a low level of actual support would do well to take cognizance of which policies would be uppermost in the minds of the public. It is not as if those polices are not the same as what Labour also had as policies but with different methods. Immigration was stated by Labour to be too high, the small boats crossings were stated by Labour as needing to be stopped. The policies enacted to date have thrown another 100,000 straight onto the UK and immigration is reckoned to increase before it comes down. They had a honeymoon period to get it right and managed to get it spectacularly wrong and the flashpoint came earlier than expected but people see the Labour writing on the wall and want none of it.

Over the last 19 years there have been a number of terrorist attacks which have broken down community relations and exacerbated fears and mistrust. Girls were murdered in an attack we were told wasn't terrorism but details about the attack were withheld despite it being in the public interest to know details about. Without information comes speculation. Speculation becomes rumour, rumour becomes false news.
Anger builds. The Police and the political response has been mishandled. Nevertheless the riots are a disgrace. Only if idiots choose to engage in it. The Public Interest initially had to take a backseat to The Law. Are you saying we should ignore the Law if a few rent-a-thugs who have IQ's smaller than their shoe sizes kick off? Isn't that turning the country in to the kind of third-work hell-hole those same rent-a-thugs think immigration will achieve? Don't get me wrong here; my first thought on hearing about the Southport stabbings were "probably a Muslim, probably an immigrant" - because on balance of probability that would be the case. You know what happened next? Well, because I am rational, intelligent and not led by knee-jerk reactions, my mind said "Ah, but you don't know, there is no proof. Best to wait and see what information in released". Then the new were reporting "Can't ID the suspect because he is a minor". To which my mind Said "Well, the law says they can't ID a minor, then they can't ID a minor". Few hours later it has all kicked off, riots, rent-a-thugs etc. My mind said "Fucking scum, they bring shame on our country." Guess what, I was right then, and I am still right now. The parents of the kid that stabbed those little girls are more deserving of British Citizenship than the thugs who used those stabbing as an excuse to riot and loot. Because, lets be honest, they don't actually give a fuck about those dead girls or their families; they are just looking for ANY excuse to riot and loot. All The Best

The rioting is a result of the rioters choosing to riot. People attacking the police or looting shops have nothing to do with the Westminster bubble. The people have been listened to, we just had an election and Labour won. We shouldn't be allowing a few hundred thugs bully us into implementing a losing manifesto. Remind me what the 48% who voted Remain were told when they complained that they weren't being listened to. As I said before all this legitimate concerns talk is reminding me more and more of the kind of victim blaming nonsense coming from some on the left after 7/7. The "look what you made me do" argument was intellectually and morally bankrupt then and now. Looting shops is the opportunists that always pop up in a riot, no belief just help themselves. If it was only a few hundred it would not matter they will be in prison soon but in places like Aldershot and Rotherham the target was quite direct it was asylum hotels that people have been saying they do not want for four years now, they have not been listened to and it is patently obvious Labour will do little to stem the flow and pop up hotels with unknown guests will appear everywhere irrespective of the wishes of the locals. Labour are moving with their inbuilt authoritarianism that comes with the left. Brexit was a case in point, every legal and Constitutional means was tried to stop Brexit and eventually it came about in a half hearted way that leaves wide open the return door that Starmer has his eye on. For many people the country is being destroyed before their very eyes and what happens when people perceive that? They do not always just roll over So if there was something about you I didn't like would it be OK for me to find where you live and throw bricks though your windows? No, of course it wouldn't. Stop using piss-poor lame arguments to defend the indefensible, and just admit it is undefensible. Why are you trying to conflate tis with Brexit. Starmer has stated Brexit is over and done with? This country is being destroyed before my very eyes - by the fuckwit thugs YOU are defending. All The Best

The Tories had 14 years to sort this out and didn't but you're angry at Labour for not sorting it out in 4 weeks? As the clear winner of the GE Labour should be focusing on delivering the winning manifesto.

I wasn’t questioning from a party political point of view but purely that voter turnout is falling a landslide is anything but and that Westminster is living in a world of its own ignoring people which is why that turnout is falling. That you cannot see that is your problem or that Westminster needs an overhaul not least the HoL And for your information I was once a long term labour voter till I came to my senses. Whichever party aligns most with the views of people questioning the legitimacy of Labour's vote share got a smaller still percentage. Shhh now, logic has no place when debating with post-truth loons. All The Best If that’s all you’ve got in reply to debate is calling opposing views are those of loons then I suggest a look in the mirror might enlighten who is behaving like a loon and relying on insult.
