Apparently riot police are protecting the gates of Downing street as bottles and flares were thrown during a protest in which people chanted enough is enough, save our kids'. The only possible connection to politics, is the fact that quite a lot of similar violent attacks on innocent people are directly linked to failing mental health services, which have been at the forefront of years of Conservative underfunding.

That is not the only possible connection, it may be a valid one, but it is by no means the only one. A general free for all as regards immigration over almost 3 decades is a contributory factor and that is politics as well. We seem to have allowed a large influx of people with the risk of specific mental health issues to come in in an uncontrolled way that must be down to politics. |

Well I don’t doubt mental health services are failing but to blame that all on the tories is a falsehood,in my later life I became involved in supporting people with mental health issues and I can tell you things were bad. Appointments taking years,treatment abysmal and being taken aside by a mainstream A&E doctor whilst waiting for hours with someone in crisis and being told “you will have a long wait for the psychiatrist to appear who will fob you off with some pills,they need admitting but it won’t happen I’m sorry but please don’t quote me” That was in Blair’s tenure. |
