I think I prefer tax income to be used form paying doctors rather than for supposed winter fuel allowance to comfortably off pensioners. It’s about time the economy was geared to towards working and earning people instead of elderly Tory voters… Or maybe migrants that shouldn’t be here. I see the usual leftie has claimed that all pensioners not on pension tax credits are ‘ well off’. Ive predicted that lefties will taint pensioners as ‘ benefit scroungers’ as soon as they possibly can and I was correct .

Possibly difficult for you to compute, but I suggest that well off pensioners would not be (or should not be) in receipt of pension credit. Pensions are now closer to working incomes, so greater efforts should be made to aid working age people in difficulty. If you’re looking for who to blame for the UK’s current overspend and lacklustre economy, blame the Tories. All this cack about being the fastest-growing and healthiest economy when compared to the EU top performers is moonshine — the UK is starting from such a low base that jet-propelled growth would need several years for it to even draw level…

You are easy to ‘ compute ‘…. easy to see through . You “ I think I prefer tax income to be used form paying doctors rather than for supposed winter fuel allowance to comfortably off pensioners.” Only pensioners who are on pension credits are going to receive the heat allowance …sooo.. that means pensioner that are NOT on pension credits will NOT receive year allowance . Are you able to compute that ? So according to you pensioners NOT on credit are ‘ well off’. Don’t post shit and pretend you didn't mean it .

We've got to be realistic.
A doctor in the USA, can earn 250-350k per year, whilst paying maybe 20% tax all in.
Comparatively, a doctor in the UK will earn less than half that, whilst paying staggering 50-70% tax (inc vat)
If we want to keep capable doctors, and not lose them to the USA or other western nations, we have to give them incentive to remain.

When I lived in Essex there was a vascular clinic in Basildon hospital and Southend Hospital ( and Chelmsford). They were in the same trust l Basildon and Southend clinics seemed to be incapable of communicating with each other . How much wage increase would be needed to make the two clinics become competent ?

It's the addled grey matter you have that can't read and comprehend plain English. You correctly say, "Only pensioners who are on pension credits are going to receive the heat allowance …sooo.. that means pensioner that are NOT on pension credits will NOT receive year allowance."
What's wrong with that? Until now, everyone of state pensions age got the Winter Fuel Payment, whether they needed it or not because it would cost too much to means test.
Now it's only going to those who receive additional benefits — ie, those who need it like long-term ill, disabled, or state pension age receiving benefits. If that pushes them into hardship, they can apply to their council for help.
The Tories cosseted their elderly voters — triple lock and all that — while working people and families struggled with the cost of living, high mortgage interest, and rising rents. Now, these working people won't find their taxes supporting people who don't need support...

You are the one with addled brain and or a dishonest one. You posted “ I think I prefer tax income to be used form paying doctors rather than for supposed winter fuel allowance to comfortably off pensioners ” and it has been very carefully pointed out that YOUR statement claims that you believe any pensioner NOT receiving pension credit is ( according to you ) “ well off”. As I said , stop posting shit and pretend that you didn’t . It doesn’t help when you try to obfuscate, divert and project . It just makes you look dumb and dishonest.

Do you think cost of living payments should go to anyone other than those on UC? I think exactly what I posted . Do you ? I didn't post an opinion, I merely asked a question. Would you apply the same rationale to those of working age?

Comfortably off pensioners will not be getting benefits — right?
But before today's announcement they would be getting Winter Fuel Allowance — right?
You seem to think that should continue. I don't. I prefer the doctors' pay issue to be settled without putting the UK into further debt than is necessary.
We don't appear to have any further points to discuss, so I'll leave you to rabbit on...

Winter fuel allowance will only be received by pensioners on pension credit , right? So according to you pensioners NOT on pension credit are “ well off”., right ? Are you comparing people who have paid a lifetime of national insurance to ones that have not? I was of course pointing out the parallel. My mum will be losing out, as she's 91 on Thursday but not on pension credit. If she needs I'll bung her a couple of candles.
