English people go on about the crap nature of Scottish football. Be that as it may, in the past Scotland has done well to reach World Cup Final stages. For a country of 5 million, our record stands well against countries of similar size. I couldn't care about how bad English football is, but tonight's defeat says it all!!! Yeah England got into the final and they’re crap are they? The Scots didn’t even get into the knock out stages . Oh you could care about English football and everything English. Rabid Snats like you get up in the morning and go to bed at night thinking about England . A country that boasts about how good they are, should be reaching finals. The only problem is that you don't win anything!!! The only trophy you have one saw you getting a direct entry as hosts, then played all your home matches at Wembley, and won it because of a dodgy goal. I can assure you that I am not one for thinking about England. I think you should look at yourself, though, as you seem to pay an absurd amount of time thinking about, and denigrating Scots |

Either i'm supposed to take Croatia as a beacon of how good small nations populations can perform, or i'm not - in either case, Scotland is left looking pathetic. I mean, I even tried to give you guys an 'out', but you couldn't help yourselves but try and prove me wrong. So yeah, if we're assuming you guys are right, which is it? Are croatia punching above their weight, or is scotland just a trash football team, and if so, why is Scotland's team so god damn awful? What about Scotland? This is about your country and its failure at big events. You seem to have an unsavoury obsession, aimed at Scotland. Croatia has a population 2 million fewer than Scotland. They have had a good record at both the World Cup and European Championships. Their successes makes England's record look pathetic. England has a population size of approximately twenty times that of Croatia. So, it could be said that Croatia does punch above its weight, but what does that say of England? England's fate could have been worse, as they had a jammy win over Switzerland, a team the Scots drew with, in the QF. It took penalties for England to get the better of the Swiss, a chance the Scots did not have. |

It's 2024 and we got through to the final. We were unlucky, but it was a close game and we got a goal.
We came close to getting another.
You cannot say that about Scotland.
Our Scotland team were crap, because there just isn't the talent.
The Scottish leagues are dominated by players who are not from Scotland.
That leaves a very shallow pool to choose from.
Scottish teams need to work on their academies and train up more players.
I would love to see Scotland progress meet and maybe even beat England in the final because I'm British, just like you are. But there just isn't the talent in the Scottish leagues for Scotland to do that. Not even at Rangers.

A team who’s never progressed past the group stages of the Euro’s. England are doing great right now, having been in 2 finals in the past 3 years and one of only 7 teams in the world to ever win the World Cup. So getting back on topic, why are Scotland so unable to perform and raise their game? |

It is as I say, there just aren't enough talented players in the Scottish clubs to filter through to the Scotland team.
They need to train more up, think about their tactics and hire a good manager to get the best out of them.

Possibly because football is not regarded as a sport in Scotland in the same way that it is in other countries, it is a sectarian duel featuring violence, drink, hatred and centuries old bigotry. Out of interest I looked at the facebook page of that revolting horrid pub that Tommo posted, look at that and you will see what I mean.
It is a national tendency of the Scots to fail to have self awareness, any problem is immediately identified as originated anywhere convenient except the true source, (usually Engerland), therefore failure is rather a national trait in so many ways, football is simply an extension of that.

If you looked outside the space between you ears you might notice that England is extremely critical of its football team . However our team has done vastly better than Scotland. However, the completely derogatory remarks, by Englishmen, needed a reality check. Scotland, apart from 1978 (England did not even qualify for that World Cup Finals), has never gone into an international competition thinking we were going to win it. England go into each and every competition boldly stating that "football's coming home". It never does. |
