There is nothing new about the presence of illegal migrants. The law includes international law the UK has signed up to. So stop playing with words. Just dropping international law could make the way for more international political extremism. As there are very likely to be serious unseen consequences for the dropping of international law. The build up of objection to mass immigration regardless of cause, including by myself is taking place, with many people in many countries being understandably against it. BUT it is replacing present outdated laws with thought out and rationalised alternatives, that would need international cooperation and deep intense thinking about the way ahead that is the problem. In short there is no easy way out of the position countries find themselves in. Pointing out the problems caused by mass immigration, is just a whinge. Try coming up with a positive and legal way of sorting the problem out. Don't dismiss the unexpected consequences of drastic actions. There are many legal ways if domestic law takes precedence over international law and in any case if a National Emergency is declared then that is exactly what happens. We can suspend all sorts of laws and make news ones in the event of an emergency as Covid illustrated only too clearly. We now no longer believe that any hands are tied by both International and domestic law as they can be overcome at the drop of a hat and in every situation the rights of UK citizens can be walked all over if it suits. The 'consequences' are that France and the EU will have to deal with their immigration problems without a pressure valve funneling migrants to the UK. You appear to be flapping around looking for a way to end this particular Law. None of your comments are relevant in this area. The consequences of walking away from the ECHR would leave would be dictator types the freedom to do exactly the same without any consequences. With Rightists on the march the timing could not be worse.

By the time they return at least another 6000 illegals will have arrived. Probably ^, and will no doubt continue for some time thanks to the impossible situation inherited form Tory governments. It will take time to turn things round, I just hope Starmer has some success at some time. LOL.... you silly old fool, you and Labour will still be blaming the Tories at the next GE, by which time the illegal headcount under a Labour government will be closer to extra 2 million to add to our ever growing bursting population.

It will take time to turn things round, I just hope Starmer has some success at some time. It is not impossible, it can be solved quickly, and legally, it just needs to be done. It is strange how the laws become absolute when foreign people claim their rights yet the right of British people to live in safety in their own country under the same laws and find that perpetrators are unlikely to be deported if they are foreign and likely to be let out early if they are British or Foreign is allowed to slip as the situation dictates. The idea of law is to protect the law abiding and keep society functioning in some sort of effective way. If law is not doing that then it is not good law.

Whinging on a forum is a waste of time and fixes nothing, direct action would no doubt be a better way of dealing with problems. Even have a better informed knowledge of the problems might help. I have not benefitted from mass immigration, and I am as much against it as so many others. Whingeing on a forum is by no means a waste of time it allows judgements on wider opinions to be formed and assess the rights and wrongs of any situation. It allows some to observe only and weigh up the opposing arguments. It helps to strengthen resolve in some and weaken resistance in others. It may be only a few dozen people interacting at any one time but this is teh essence of people power. LOL, we need to whinge in order to allow judgements on wider opinions to be formed, Really? It seems to me that whinging is more about opinions than facts, and that is a problem. Facts are what is needed.

It seems to me that whinging is more about opinions than facts, and that is a problem. Facts are what is needed. Of course facts are what are needed but then what is a fact. Some believe that people who lived thousands of years ago are Prophets/Son of God/Messengers etc and consider these views as facts with no 'other fact' allowed to penetrate their shield of belief. Facts are disputed time and again and neither you nor I have all the facts. All we can do is exchange opinion on what facts we have and accept. Which brings me in a circular sort of way back to discussion (whingeing if you like) which helps to form and change opinion and challenge 'facts'.

Farage turns up for the pomp of the state opening of parliament, then as soon as it's over, he promptly buggers off to America to cozy up to Trump rather than actually doing work in the commons. First day at work and he's pulling a sickie. The people of Clacton are so lucky. Did anyone seriously expect any different. All The Best

It's serious work liaising with our most important ally. Far more so than Starmer & Co bending over for Brussels.

They are all fucking off on holiday at the end of next week so nothing is going to get done until September.. Constituency Work continues when Parliament is not in session. Well, at least that is the excuse they use for being paid for 365 days a year when Parliament sits for a lot less than that. Parliament 58 (the last one) sat for just 675 days from 2019-2024, out of a potential 1647 Days - so only just 40.98% of available days. source: commonslibrary.parliament.uk/research-briefings/sn04653/Let's not forget that MPs are paid from the Public Purse, and the Tories have been very firm on trying to make sure that the Public Purse get VFM, even to the point of cutting some NHS pay by over 30% in Real Terms. Funny then that they never turn that VFM microscope on themselves, isn't it. So to be paid for 365 Days a year an MP should be able to prove they actually work for their constituency for 365 days a year. Or they should have their salaries, and gold plated pensions adjusted accordingly. Given the calculation above they should only be receiving 41% of their annual salary and pension contributions. All The Best

Well unless we see significant US Investment in Clacton then this wasn't about liaising, it was about schmoozing. Any guess as to which is most likely. Of course, IF he were really going to see out most important partner, he'd be going to see Biden, NOT Trump. All The Best

We HAD Direct Action - we voted for Brexit, and you denounced it at every opportunity. Please don't pretend you are against Mass Immigration, you vociferously defended it year after year at the other Forum. All The Best Please keep your comments credible, I have not denounced Brexit per se, I pointed out that IMO, Brexit, wright or wrong, it was not the right time because of all the underlying weaknesses of the UK. I argued about mass immigration with HH on the other forum, seems that your imagination has let you down again. You obviously live in a world of your imagination. I am against mass immigration certainly since the mass of so called asylum seekers became a problem. I have posted that thanks to 18 Years of Tory mismanagement of the UK, we hit a period of an expanding economy following the election of New Labour, that required all sorts of experienced, trained, educated and professional people that were just not available in the UK at that time. I was in favour of 'Freedom of Movement' in a united Europe, but that is totally different to mass immigration by asylum seekers and economic migrants from the rest of the world. Yes, you did. But ALWAYS from the POV we should remain in the EU, and so could do NOTHING to change the immigration paradigm. Just to clarify, as you've never once answered in almost 10 years of debate: What EXACT conditions would be needed to create the "right time" for a Referendum on our Membership of the EU? All The Best

All The Best And what do you imagine Lammy & Co are doing, while bending over for Brussels and signing our rights away for nothing in return?
They'd be schmoozing the next POTUS if they hadn't already blown that relationship.
They should be grateful they've got Nigel to restore at least some of our relations with the US.
As ever, he's a far more influential figure than the rest of Westminster.

Of course, there weren't really plans to do so; just mealy-mouthed words to con some Working Class people to vote for him. Starmer is even more Tory-Lite than Blair. All The Best

All The Best Well let's see, Nulla: "PM chooses to make illegal migration main theme of European Political Community summit at Blenheim Palace"www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2024/07/17/starmer-fire-starting-gun-closer-relationship-with-europe/Quelle surprise. Which of course means that we'll be taking more illegal immigrants, and doing nothing about the boats, in return for the square root of fuck all.
