Do you ever notice anything when politicians speak, they always offer hard times and less freedom, at some point in time never mentioned once everything that hard times and less freedom fix, a certain utopia. I get the feeling if said utopia was ever coming through hard times and less freedoms they might have arrived by now.

I don't think the Tories need Farage to do that, they are making a good job of it themselves.

I don't think the Tories need Farage to do that, they are making a good job of it themselves. If labour do get to infest the HOC it will be a case of them being handed it to them on a plate by the Tory's. It certainly won't be due to their own plans or ever changing policies.

It will probably go down in history that Starmer/Labour won a GE by saying and doing absolutely nothing, and without a single manifesto policy to their name.

And probably with a record low turnout.

Farage to stand for parliament. "I will destroy the Conservative party"' I think if the demise of the Conservative party is to occur in the main it is due to the Conservative party itself. Farage may give a helping hand or tip it over the edge but it has been teetering on that edge for a while now. That is because it cannot decide what it is and has largely been destroyed by the EU factor and trying to appease whichever side is in the ascendancy at any particular time. Cameron thought he would put the issue to bed by winning approval to Remain but widened the gap as Remain supporters could not accept Leave winning.

We are out of the EU, as far as the UK is concerned EU membership is a dead duck.

sheepy It's the Western orthodoxy and no one can be allowed to deviate. Hence the initial panic and then the combined war on Truss when she unveiled a plan for good times and more freedom. The Yanks, the Bank of England, the American Investment Banks, the MPs, all joined forces to kill it at birth ....it was important not to even let her scheme get under way. Liz was summoned to the White House and had the Riot Act read to her, and as we remember back in Britain, Chancellor Kwarteng was aware of his sacking even before Liz's plane had touched down at Heathrow.
A Corbyn Government likewise, would have been overthrown within a matter of months, such was the range of powerful forces, financial and otherwise, ranged against him. Sir Slippery on the other hand, austerity, authoritarianism, war, Russia bad, China Bad, Free Enterprise bad, EU good ........ man he's going to be showered with warm congratulations from every Western Government going ....... he truly is one of them ..... and he sings from the approved hymn sheet.

I like their idea of the government and the private sector creating more businesses from within the UK (and therefore more employment from within the UK) instead of financially encouraging and relying on foreign finance. It sounds like a programme to reverse Thatcher's folly that destroyed thousands of small British businesses.

Conspiracy theories have an enticement level all of their own. And it seems to me that the Far-Right politically minded have a special liking for them.

see2 And it seems to me that the Far- Left have a special liking for placing the word 'conspiracy' in front of any theory they don't like. A cheap and easy way to discredit ...... and I'm told tossing out 'Anti-semitism' accusations works on the same basis ..... I wonder if you've tried it ?

Common sense has taken hold, he cant expect people to vote reform if he doesnt lead from the front, at worst him not standing shows he has no faith in his own party. Game on, common sense now has a party.
