We haven't had Brexit. We haven't taken control of our borders. We're still signed up to a whole raft of EU regs. We're still signed up to the ECHR.
If we're going to be subject to the EU shite then we might as well be members and have some of the benefits. That's where many people, including myself, are now.
Such shallow thinking I suppose that's why you post so much Rightest garbage. There is some truth in his post, Brexit was a path of opportunity that had to be taken. The fact that no political force really wanted to take it of course means that it could never happen effectively. They were always trying to mitigate the effects they believed would happen and follow the paths of least resistance which of course were EU guided paths.

What it all highlighted is the fact that you don't tell the establishment what to do, it tells you what to do, and if you vote against the programming the establishment will do everything it can to fk you. Demoocracy may as well not exist with an estabishment like this. The Labour collectivists are the worst for being unthinking drones, which is why they lack the ability to even think this way.
EDIT: I have the abusive troll below on ignore.

Because they are already as far right as they can go one some policies without becoming fascist dictators. All The Best Which policies would those be? Once again 'fascist' comes into play as a descriptive political term yet it is never clear what exactly is meant. I always took Fascism to be a dictatorial, domineering, intolerant and authoritarian bureaucratic regime with elements of militarism and race/cultural purity. So which aspects would fit the bill as regards the Tories, I can see the Labour aspects that fit well. So the Tories ongoing attacks on the impartiality of both the Judiciary and the Press didn't spring to mind there? Mmmm, says a lot... All The Best

Hang on. You really can't be this stupid, can you? Brexit didn't get done properly, on that we agree. But then you go on the blame Labour? We voted for Brexit in 2016 - a whole half-decade and more AFTER the Conservatives came to power. It was a Conservative government that disastrously negotiated a piss-poor Brexit Deal because they were unwilling to compromise on some things to get a better overall outcome for the UK (although to be fair the EU was typically intransigent on that front as well). It was also a Conservative government who, in 2020, implemented that disastrously bad Brexit deal. But your limited intellect and inability to see beyond broken and discredited Right Wing dogmatic ideology prevents you from actually blaming the Conservatives; and tries instead to pin the blame on Labour and those who support them, even though Labour constituencies strongly supported Brexit, so much so the Conservatives tried and succeeded in poaching traditional Labour "red wall" constituencies. The Cognitive Dissonance is clearly very strong with you. All The Best

Boris got the majority to actually enable leave but by that time the negotiations had secured very little other than turning over and allow the EU to tickle our stomach. You think we forget the continued Remain campaign that continuously blamed Brexit, or potential Brexit, for everything from the price of grommets to global warming and how that was delivered by the media in a concerted, and carefully timed, campaign of 'information'. And it still goes on.

Yes it is, this country scores very highly on Press Impartiality ratings, we are 23rd out of 180. I look at the whole, and the UK Media is very close to being in the top 10% (12.7% to be precise) of the most free and impartial national medias. Likewise the UK ranks 15th out of 142 on the World Justice Project's "Rule Of Law" rankings. The problem is both Right-Wing & Left-Wing Fucktards think anyone who opposes them is "biased" just because they oppose them, and NOT because there is any actual evidence of bias. It is the same dishonest narrative that see2 constantly pushes about the "right-wing media" tarnishing the reputation of New Labour, and especially his love-idols Blair and Brown. All The Best

You think we forget the continued Remain campaign that continuously blamed Brexit, or potential Brexit, for everything from the price of grommets to global warming and how that was delivered by the media in a concerted, and carefully timed, campaign of 'information'. And it still goes on. Brexit certainly DID play a huge part in the increased costs of almost all goods and commodities, because we are a Net Importer and a LOT of our Imports came from the EU. That shouldn't bee too hard for anyone to figure out, even people like me who voted Leave and still think a Out is a better long-term option than In; but I am not dishonest enough to pretend Brexit had no impact on the Cost Of Living Crisis - it quite clearly did, and continues to do so. The "piss poor deal" was entirely down to the crass, ideologically driven, incompetence of the Government of the day, that is a Conservative Government. You can clearly see from what has happened since that the Conservatives had no interest at all in controlling our borders, and limiting immigration. That is because the people they exclusively serve - big business (not the electorate as some are naïve enough to think) - like excess labour-pools to drive down the cost of labour and drive up the cost of living, thus generating more profits for no real improvement in either goods or services offered. Of course Labour had no intention whatsoever of controlling immigration either, but for very different, but equally ideologically driven, reasons. Of course, the real way to break the "ideology monopoly" of only having two electable parties, both of whom want more immigration, was to vote to change the FPTP Voting System. We had that chance, and fucked it up. All The Best

It was not a necessary path to take. It couldn't happen effectively because none of those who chose that path knew how to navigate it. They had no option other than to muggle their way around the mess they created.

I love honesty and objectivity, its clear that not everyone does.

I suggest you stop looking for ways to excuse those in power who made a mess of Brexit.

Even back then the UK Media was far more impartial then you ever gave it credit for. Holding Bair and Brown to account on the things they did get wrong (and they got a lot wrong) does NOT make the media biased, it makes them effective. I am not actually sure you even know what " honesty & objectivity" mean to be honest. All The Best
