Well we know that taxes are going to rise. Whether the average family will be worse off under Labour by £1000, £2000 or £3000 is the unknown. Until we see how badly we are worse off nobody knows if Sunak is lying. But we do know that under the Conservatives everyone is already £2,200 worse off. And that if the same criteria as the Tories applied to Labour's spending plans were to be applied to the Tory plans they would be a further £3,000 worse off. So, even the made-up Tory guestimate of £2,000 worse off under Labour is a better prospect than they are offering. And Sunak DID lie: he claimed his figures were independent, civil service approved figures, when in fact they were neither. All The Best It's not rocket science the Fiscal studies have calculated Starmer's spending spree if he gets into power, so someone actually sat down and did the maths, other than there being some magic money tree at Starmers disposal then the money he intends to splash out has to come from somewhere or somebody, and that somewhere and somebody is 'Us' all the tax payers. To cover his spending spree taxes would have to rise by each household by £2000 a year (at least) ... so what is it you are struggling to work out?

Nulla, as usual, is struggling with the truth - which he wouldn't recognise if it bit him on the arse.
As it frequently does.

If you have any facts, then you tell us. Well we know that taxes are going to rise. Whether the average family will be worse off under Labour by £1000, £2000 or £3000 is the unknown. Until we see how badly we are worse off nobody knows if Sunak is lying. It's now been announced that Labour plans to reintroduce the LTA have been dropped .... that so far estimated £2000 tax rise for the contributing taxpayer was always looking on the very low side , it's now anyone's guess as to how much Labour will screw the contributing taxpayer for so they can hand it over to benefit spongers, illegal immigrants and giving schoolkids all inclusive meal deals.

Well most of the figures did come from the Treasury and where the estimates did not come from the Treasury, they came either from other reputable sources – but mainly from Labour themselves. Except that they included the Tory proposal for dentistry... Inept doesn't even cover this shambles.

It's all designed to denigrate the opposition. You are getting hung up on trivia. That's incorrect: they were "assumptions" made by the Tory Party. Truth is NOT trivia. Truth is fundamental to the proper functioning of an informed democracy. All The Best

What can one say, never cross the Farage, he has a long memory, half the bankers in the world will be crapping themselves and before he has begun, they're doing a runner like in France. He obviously knows he will have to take charge over the Bank of England.

But it can be controversial because the calculations are based on assumptions provided by the government’s political advisors (i.e. the opposition party’s political rivals)."

But it can be controversial because the calculations are based on assumptions provided by the government’s political advisors (i.e. the opposition party’s political rivals)." The policy is not an assumption by Government advisors - it is what the Labour Party commit to doing. Take the spending on Dentists - the first section of the Treasury costings shows the source of the claim. In this case Les Streeting and Keir Starmer.

The one positive point of Reform Ltd is that the more votes it attracts, the less likely the UK will suffer under the current administration — though the malady will linger on, as there's plenty needs mending. Just hope Farage's 8th attempt holds up as he tries to cover up his quote:...
"Richard Tice probably does want me to replace him. But do I want to be an MP? Do I want to spend every Friday for the next five years in Clacton?"The Times 11/02/2024
