Immigration is the driver behind 90% of the UK's housing deficit. You cannot fix one without the other. I think the point is that the Tories have failed on immigration, on the NHS, on Education etc. and the public feel very let down by them. This is their 14th year in office. well sort of. The Tories have certainly failed on immigration. With regards to the NHS and Education they have done better in England than the Labour Party in Wales and the SNP in Scotland. So a mixed bag.

Give it a couple of months and we might be asking how Starmer would go about stopping Macron sending so many illegals our way ? And the clue may well lie in your first sentence. Starmer can explain in all sincerity that he hates Brexit as much as Macron does, that he wants to get the UK back into the EU, and the more the French do to help him remain in power, then the more chance there will be of us rejoining.
Macron sees the logic in this and asks how he can best help. Captain Hindsight replies that making some genuine attempt to cut down the number of rubber dinghies packed with illegals leaving French shores would be much appreciated.
And I've heard at least one Right Wing commentator predicting that immigration will fall under Starmer. It doesn't have to be by much, but if Labour can prove more effective than the Tories in containing immigration, the Tories could really be finished off for good. Well it's a theory ....... and the Corbynites will choke on their cornflakes at the very thought .... but I'd put nothing past Sir Slippery.

This might help you.. As the nasty Party continue with their dishonest denigration, and all because it is easier to be dishonest than to indulge in grown up debate. Want to find out why the UK never quite makes it? Then look no further than the massive domination of Parliament by the Tories since 1951.

There is no way anyone is going to even begin the process of the UK rejoining the EU, Or at least not in the next 40 to 50 years. By which time the country will be able to judge whether Brexit was overall good or bad for the UK.

But still failed on the NHS and on education. compared to who? Comparison is irrelevant, the NHS has become less effective under the Tories. Nothing unusual about that.

Yeah, but we get to hear a lot of boring twats telling us they will make it so, when by far the majority know full well as long as they keep voting for their own downfall, it will be so.

You appear to be supporting my case. Immigration is a big issue in England. Yes, but the evidence shows, not with the Tories. Other than whatever mischief they can get up to with their propaganda. But it is, both the Tories and Labour know immigration is a huge issue with voters which is why Starmer and Sunak are 'oh so sincerely' telling us they will stop the boats. Yes we all know they're bloody lying, the point is they both know immigration is a massive issue with the public. As it is in many EU states.

Certainly not instantly, the damage is just too deep to change it overnight. I bet there are many Tory MPs who will be grateful for at least a five year spell out of office.
