Rory Stewart a Conservative, LOL. He was never a Conservative, he represents modern centrist conservatives who, if the polls are to believed, have pretty much killed the party. When the Tories rise from the ashes of this election as they inevitably will, they will come back as a proper centre right Conservative party there will be no room for left wing saps like Rory Stewart. You already have a proper right wing party in Reform. And just look how they are flying. So you admit the entire establishment is corrupt.

You remind me of the outraged pro EU lefties who spent years laughing at UKIP, and as Farage famously said; they aint laughing now. Only a fool would underestimate Farage, again. But lets face it, there's no fool like a left wing fool.

Oh look - another 'One Nation' faux Conservative who feels more at home in a left-wing party..(to the absolute surprise of nobody) Nope, just another ex Tory MP, finally pissed off by decade after decade after decade and so on of Tory Failure to effectively govern the country. No longer fooling himself by indulging in the denigration of the opposition, and finally recognising he should have been denigrating the Conservative Party. He admits himself he was never a Tory - pretending he was meant he got a seat in Parliament.

He admits himself he was never a Tory - pretending he was meant he got a seat in Parliament. I had to go back and check a few things in newspaper sites from the time, because I admit at the time i had more important things to do like watching paint dry, so didn’t spend a lot of time paying attention, but i could have sworn at the time of Boris’ ‘get brexit done’ leadership campaign as opposed to his ‘i can’t be arsed’ campaign two years earlier, Stewart actually survived a round or two …. And as anyone who gets to be Minister For The Environment, life membership of JSO, Greenpeace and the Swampy Fan Club are surely ‘de rigeur’

Should I have a bet on Reform coming behind Plaid?

Should I have a bet on Reform coming behind Plaid? One indeterminate point is that like Brexit there are many shy Reformers. When asked by pollsters they may well not tell the truth. The last poll on Brexit got the result almost exactly the opposite of what it was. At the risk of being accused of excessive optimism I think that Reform will get around 25%, dependant on how successful the expected continuing smear campaign will be in the next 9 days and how much Sunak and especially Starmer manage to continue to dodge relevant questions. I know people who never voted any other way than Labour are switching and Tory voters are singularly depressed. No doubt this may be cast up against me but there are parapets and heads to be raised.

I've heard of shy Tories and fully expect them to appear on 04.07.2024. But not shy Reformers. I mean, what is the point in being shy about a protest vote? And I fully expect some people extolling the virtues of Reform to vote Tory, when they realise what it means.

And I fully expect some people extolling the virtues of Reform to vote Tory, when they realise what it means. Because when faced with a political pollster they do not wish to say they are protestors, people like to be seen in general as the good guys and with Reform being painted as the bad guys they do not wish to admit it. It is like when the BNP vote soared it was not predicted in the polls in the early stages. What does Reform mean in your eyes that people will come to see? Most people have experience of both Labour and Tory over the past two to three decades and know exactly what ensued for their lives.

Its such a shame that people only peer over their parapets instead of coming out into no mans land to talk. But that's how nationalism works. Its us and them every time. Frankly I don't see how anyone could talk sensibly to Farage when his supporters still can't even tell the difference between Asylum and Immigration.

You are a moderator of the competing forum that isn't doing very well. The only reason I haven't exposed the URL is out of respect for somebody else.
