Is immigration running at almost record levels ? Who has been in power for the last 14 years ? What does the word "Hypocrite" mean ? Indeed immigration is far too high. Do you envisage a Labour government reducing it?.. Case M'lud.

Surely. How can anyone be so uninformed? Ineqguality peaked in 2008. Can you also tell me what else peaked in 2008 and notice on your chart how much lower inenquarty was pre 2011.

If you are trying (and failing) to make some daft political point then inequality today is lower than when the Tories came to power in 2010. The reality is that it has not changed much since the early 90's and only peaked during the later half of the Blair years when his property price boom took off.

Guess what? they have had the last 16 years to sort themselves out, but instead have blamed anyone and everyone but themselves. They were told a decade ago they would lose every vote they thought they were entitled too, if they carried on and still did it anyway. Tough titty it is for the Westminster party. Still even have the same shills saying exactly the same crap, when everything around them has fallen to pieces.

I thought you lived in Cambridge... Lol. Land of eternal hope. BTW. One way to lower benefit payments would be to lower house prices. Housing benefit makes up a huge portion of benefit payments. This benefit is given to the low paid and immediately passed on to rich house owners. Nice one Tories, a really sneaky way to help your mates. And you get to blame the poor as well. Ooh and keep bringing in those legal migrants and limiting house building, yummy money for us rich folk.

The best way to lower house prices, and rents, is to lower demand not to import 670,000 (Not inc illegals) people every year.

One other good thing about a Labour win for a lot of the regulars on here, you'll be able to legitimately blame the left for all the country's problems again.
Every cloud etc.

Obviously, but in the real world you still have to house all those you already invited. Or send them home Quite, it's a no brainer. Yep. What I always get stuck on is discussing the HOW we do it. How do we maintain increased GDP and compensate for our aging population whilst cutting immigration. How do we pay the ever increasing medical costs of dementia patients and other age related diseases without bringing in ever more workers. No one will discuss the tax rises that would need, or the significant cutting of essential services (Not just rainbow crossings and ethnicity managers) People talk wildly about getting benefits claimants back to work, but that's pie in the sky. Most can't work and no business is going to take on the lazy buggers (who needs that hassle) I'm sure we can do it and I think its what we need to do, but it ain't free.
