Nope.
Like I said, scrap it.

Well it's vastly increased the cost of booze, levied extra income tax, racked up green taxes in the name of some bollox called a climate emergency that doesn't exist and for a while at least if you fancied raping a woman inside a prison cell all you had to do was rape one outside prison, get convicted for it and then identify as female
So the ideal party for the woke left.

Here a Scotsman sums up the situation, with the added benefit of infuriating a cult member. Andrew Neil, showed he does not understand the Scottish political scene. He might be Scottish, but he has clearly gone native. Lesley Riddoch firmly showed him up. Water in public ownership, unlike in England where private, foreign companies, driven by profit, have ruined the system. This has resulted in masses of sewage being spewed into rivers etc. There has been such happenings in Scotland but nowhere near the extent that is occurring in your country Less NHS privatisation. No NHS strikes in Scotland. What has devolution brought us: Free Prescriptions Free eye, hearing and dental checks for all Free tuition fees Free care for the elderly Record high health funding Increasing hours of free childcare New social security system (13 new benefits) The Scottish Child Payment. Tens of thousands of children lifted out of poverty through the £25 per week allowance. You can see more at www.snp.org/record/

MUP affects the cheapest booze. If that's what you drink, you'll be glad you live in Wales. Scotland has a problem with alcohol and MUP is a wee attempt to do something about it. As you go up the quality ladder, prices are the same in both countries. 1p in the pound. Hardly wallet busting stuff. In any case 51% of Scots pay less tax. The bill only starts rising at about £28,200 "a climate emergency that doesn't exist", Awa'n bile yer heid!!!

Scotland is subsidised by the English via the Barnett formula and has been since the 1970's with even Joel Barnett calling his formula unfair.
Abolish devolution and instead have good governance for the whole UK.

Tens of thousands of children lifted out of poverty through the £25 per week allowance. You can see more at www.snp.org/record/Devolution has not brought us that. Rather, the generous block grant through which UK Gov provides ScotGov with £126 per capita to spend on devolved matters for every £100 that UK Gov spends on such matters in England has paid for and brought us all of that. If ScotGov received the same amount per capita to spend on devolved matters as is spent in England, how many items above do you think would still be on your list?

I agree with all of that and support both MUP and ScotGov’s aim of extending progressive taxation in principle. That said, there is more to it than 1p in the pound. Tax Band Thresholds in Scotland have not risen as they have in the rest of the country resulting in significantly increased tax bills for higher rate tax payers in particular and rendering better paid jobs offering similar pre-tax salaries in Scotland less attractive than those in rUK.

Still rabbiting on about a subject you obviously know little about. The Bock Grant is basically some of the money raised in taxation, from Scotland, being passed back to Scotland. As it stands, the amount returned is based on a proportion of the 'devolved matters' spending on, e.g, Health, in England. There are reasons why public spending in Scotland is higher, for example water is publicly owned here and appears in the public spending accounts. Privatised English water is not included in their accounts. If ScotGov can provide the things listed from the pocket money it receives back, think about what could be achieved if all Scotland's taxes were available to ScotGov.. The English Government has made the conscious decision not to implement the measures implemented in Scotland.

Even if we hadn’t established it long before now, based upon that post alone you are obviously the one who understands little about the block grant, or about the fiscal arrangements in general. I can’t decide if you are genuinely too thick to grasp it ( like your fellow anti-English bigot Jaydee) or if your anti-English bigotry prevents you from accepting anything that does not suit your twisted anti-English bigotry inspired Indy agenda. It’s probably a bit of both in your case.
i have thought about what it would be like if all the tax raised in or by Scotland (and only those taxes) were available to ScotGov. That would be horrific as it would only ever happen if we were independent which would mean that we would be deep in a fiscal black hole requiring massive tax hikes and brutal cuts in public services, bringing deep and long-term hardship to bear upon the Scottish people. Unfortunately, you are the one who obviously has not thought about that, not me.

Unfortunately, you are the one who obviously has not thought about that, not me. Your attempts to explain the workings entailed in the calculation of the annual 'Block Grant' shows your lack of understanding. Are you, for instance, saying that proposed English spending has nothing to do with how the Barnett formula operates? There is no 'black hole'. It only exists in the fevered minds of you and your Unionist compatriots. ScotGov has to balance its books. If this was not done, a fine would be imposed. Because devolved matters are balanced, it proves that ScotGov is sound financially, economically. The problem arises with the UK Government's alleged spending on and on behalf of Scotland. A lot of the sums allotted to Scotland are pure guesswork.

“Your attempts to explain the workings entailed in the calculation of the annual 'Block Grant' shows your lack of understanding.”
Where, above, have I attempted to do that?
“ Are you, for instance, saying that proposed English spending has nothing to do with how the Barnett formula operates? “
No.
“There is no 'black hole'. It only exists in the fevered minds of you and your Unionist compatriots.”
That just demonstrates how badly informed and/or how out of your depth you are - and how much your anti-English bigotry prevents you from acknowledging the truth.
“ScotGov has to balance its books. If this was not done, a fine would be imposed.”
So what?
“Because devolved matters are balanced, it proves that ScotGov is sound financially, economically.”
No it doesn’t, and even if it did that would not mean that there is not, or would not be, a fiscal black hole. Once again, this just demonstrates how badly informed and/or out of your depth you are - and how much your anti-English bigotry prevents you from acknowledging the truth.

The reality is that every bottle of cider in Lidl in Newport costs at least £5 while the same in Bristol costs £1.99 Every bottle of beer in newport costs at least 5p more than its Bristol counterpart. I haven’t been to Scotland for a few years and to be honest i no longer want to

Perhaps you could format your responses a bit better. I will try to decipher your ramblings. 1. Don't you understand the English language? I used the plural of "attempt". That points to your previous "attempts" as well as any "attempt" you tried above! 2. Now we are getting somewhere. Keep it up 3. As I said, you have no idea of the concept. Also, in what way does what I said show anti-English bigotry? You are scraping the barrel, but then that's par for the course 4. "So What"? Are you for real? Showing your complete lack of understanding yet again. 5. Yes it does. An Independent Scotland would not follow the rUKs policies. If there is a "black hole" on Independence, it would be based on rUK mismanagement of the economy. It would then be down to ScotGov to sort the mess out. No spending on Trident. No interference in other countries affairs e.g invasion and warfare are examples of where savings could be made. As for black holes, are you saying that the UK is free of one? Anti-English bigotry again? You really must explain yourself. The accusations are nonsensical rubbish.

It's a pity you don't understand the concept. Really couldn't give a hoot about your travel arrangements.
