Here is one case scenario I know about … linked to the Tavistock.

….After unsupervised Internet surfing, an impressionable child feels they don’t fit in, likely bullied … they live isolated in their bedrooms … end up in depression, eventually repeatedly self-harming … one key influential school friend can be enough to lead them down the wrong path … parents naturally desperate to find a solution can be manipulated by psychologists … and partially marginalised out of key decision making processes.

…. next minute their confused self/harming early teenage daughter going thru puberty with no tits to show off, thinks she should’ve been born a ‘boy’ … after a series of shrink sessions and parental hand-wringing … she’s eventually manoeuvred onto a programme of irreversible hormone treatment that kills her ability to be a ‘mother’ in later life …and adopts a boy’s name. Finally going to college with her friend. A few dead end jobs later, her relationship with her friend drifts apart … difficulties finding relationships with trans-accepting boys … now in her early 20’s … she’s grown up a bit …growing her hair again, acting like a girl again … and it seems she might finally be accepting the gender she was born with …. happier … fitting in better … more settled …. but may never have the option to have kids now …. that box she willingly ticked saying ‘irreversible hormone therapy’ …..

But it’s not totally irreversible.

Detransitioning … seems to be increasing … there’s a UK support group out there with over 300 members.
