Last election most people voted for parties not committed to Brexit Oh and Opinium poll day before that vote Ah, the twisted mind of the remainer. Get Brexit done had an 80 seat majority old chap. That's reality versus silly statistics. And again. what were the choices available.

But those committed to Brexit won. Just as Heath won in 1970 being committed to joining when Labour were not so committed and had many reservations and red lines and the polls indicated low public support. It is the way the Cookie crumbles. We cannot say Heath had a mandate to join and then say Johnson did not have a mandate to complete Brexit. What you keep missing is that the people have changed their minds. In 2016 people wanted Brexit. From 2017 onwards they didn't. In 2019 people wanted the Conservatives in 2022 they don't. That's what happens. then at the next election in 2024 the LibDems will win a landslide and take us back into the EU. so you have nothing to worry about.

Why are your convictions so weak? At general elections there are a million conflicting interests that direct peoples voting. That this is all you have to argue with saddens me.

The remain side had their arses kicked twice and still have learnt jack about their defeats.

I am a remainer, but I voted Tory to make sure Corbyn didn't get in. Which seemed the greater evil to me.

How do you think we got a referendum in the first place? - it wasn't by people crying in their beer and wailing that life is not fair. They got of their arse and voted for what they wanted - and when enough of them voted for it their wish was granted.

Funny how those who keep moaning about us leaving and it being unfair were quite content to remain in the eu after we had been sold a croc of shit that we were joining a trading bloc ONLY and not a bloody dictatorship.

For democracy to work losing voters need to accept the result. If they don't then winners aren't the winners and we don't have a democracy. So are the public never allowed to change their minds? You have to accept the result first. Doesn't seem like you have. That's not democracy. The public are of course allowed to change their minds but they've also made their beds and democracy has spoken. Allegedly changing their minds every time the wind blows is childish. If the public are, as you say still determined to "rejoin" the EU in something like 40 years time - about the same amount of time the UK was in the EU then I'd say crack on. But all this current economic turmoil has nothing to do with Brexit, yet for people who never accepted the result (anti-democrats), see it as the perfect opportunity to overturn democracy. This act and behaviour doesn't fool everyone.

With the hindsight of Ukraine I would have considered voting for Boris (yes, really) purely to try and prevent the genocide in Ukraine as much as possible [as opposed to Wurzel (Corbyn - tho they both resemble Wurzel) selling out to Putin].
But you didn't have that hindsight, so you voted for him for entirely different reasons.
It seems 100% hollow for you to complain about Hard Brexit or pretty much most of the things you complain about, given you voted for it. You should be pleased as it's what you voted for. And why are you criticising others here who supported Boris in 2019 when they voted for what you voted for - a lesser evil?

I have to say , you dont half talk some fucking bollocks at times on this forum.
I voted remain in 2016 , and would do so again . The fact remains , though , that from 2015 onwards , brexiters backed a party that offered a brexit referendum , then went on to win a referendum and 5 elections . How you can say that from 2017 onwards the uk didnt want brexit is beyond me. We had keir starmer devise labours disasterous remain policy of 2019 ,then run away blaming it all on corbyn , while dizzie jo swinson was that convinced of the silent remain majority , she was talking about being a potential pm in wating ti ll the snp took her seat and the east dunbartonshire electorate kicked this carpetbagger out on her arse
Are we really going to go back over recent political history again and again as you try and rewrite events to suit your current narrative?
I have been hearing people have changed their minds since the aftermath of june 2016 , and when push comes to shove , these mythical remainers never seem to appear at the ballot box to win elections in England .
Apart from the never ending delusion of anglo remainers like yourself , what remain in england is reduced to is the lies of an out and out europhile like keir starmer denying he will take the uk back into the eu if elected , while everyone knows thats exactly what he will do behind the bike sheds.
Today , here and now in 2022 , there may very well be a remain majority. I dont know , and neither do you. They will have to go out for the first time in over 6 years and show it though at the ballot box. So far , despite your empty claims , they have been invisible.

So are the public never allowed to change their minds? aye , of course they are. Democratically thorugh the ballot box by winning an election voting for a party or parties that stand on a mandate for rejoin.

You voted for a brexit party as a remainer to stop a socialist leading labour to victory despite claiming to be a labour supporter? No fucking wonder politicis in england is in such disarray with this type of thinking.
