why would anyone want to use a weird random system with no logical mathematical sense when there is a perfectly simple one which works on the straightforward divisions/multiplications of 10s, 100s, and 1000s? What is the metric equivalent of a Nautical mile? What is the imperial equivalent?

How do you know I wasn't talking about the Imperial (Admiralty) mile?

How do you know I wasn't talking about the Imperial (Admiralty) mile? Doesn't matter if you were. My point was that very few people know what it is or have reason to use it. Its 2025 yards. (A mile is 1760 yards)

So there were 5 prosecutions before commonsense won the day. There are far more than than that they were just given as examples......You are even denying the GOV UK site and the rules. Do you wander down to your favourite watering hole and ask for a litre? I deny nothing. You offered 5 cases which led to the system in that situation being ignored. The EU did nothing, so my comment is that you are making a mountain out of a molehill. That you have a problem with the metric system is irrelevant, it is a superior system that will eventually take control. My Beer comes in 330ML bottles.

They totally misrepresent the reason for the EU regulation (which the UK agreed with) It had noting to do with abandoning imperial measurement. The rule was bought in to stop con men producing bottles that looked like they held a half a pint (250ml) but didn't. So they made a set of rules saying containers and weights could only be certain amounts. It also made sense to use a system in which weights and liquid measures were interchangeable.

Many people in the UK didn't have a bloody clue on metric weights and measures. But they knew what feet and inches were along with pints and quarts. You can distort it all you wish this was yet another bunch of crap forced upon by the dictatorsship in Brussels.

But in any case at least you knew both bottles you were looking at held the same amount without having to check the tiny writing on the label. And if two bottles contained 7Fl oz and the other 168grams you had no idea which held more. Because the archaic system had 1fl oz = 28.34952 grams Do that sum in the super market.

Who don't think the rise in gay beating and other hate crimes is OK. Oh and the majority want to remain. So you're speaking for the silent minority. Glad to help, considering how much time you must have spent going round asking them all.

And what about gays leating up on the straight members of our society? At least those who are straight don'ty find it necessary to dress up like ponces and parade their own agenda on our streets.
Glad to see you had the time to ask the majority of the UK how they felt about the EU. The remainer side have had their arses kicked twice when they though they knew best and still have learnt jack from their hidings.
