Absolute nonsense from a serial waffler. Grammar schools were being built to accommodate more grammar school . I know because a third grammar / tech was built in my old area . All of your posts come from your imagination and a failed grammar school teacher. You merely reflect the envy of the bitter , loser and failure. Ha ha, was that before or after the exams? Even so what happened to students before more grammar schools were built? How many grammar schools closed down for one reason or another? It is whole questionable area. And none of which saved the 11+ from self extinction. One thing is certain, I'm not a loser. My education allowed me to retrained from being a skilled engineer into a professional position where I immediately almost trebled my income, improved my status and my working conditions and began to enjoy some of the perks of working as a professional. Tell me, how well did your education work for you? Our grammar school was changed from Grammar to Comprehensive . It never closed down. Grammar we’re closed by leftie politicians not because they didn’t produce educated pupils . Yes you are an old fart that went to a secondary and ( according to you) made good. Which supports my point that secondary education wasn’t always a route to mediocrity. I threw it away but my Grammar background helped me immensely after I left . I found a job because my work ethic impressed my girlfriends millionaire father. Ive run print departments and represented union members since .My friends became Solicitors, Author ,Engineers , businessmen,Art dealer and one of them was a rock musician who built recording studios and a ranch in Texas….and they were from the B stream. Im just glad there wasn’t enough of your ilk to take that away from us.

and to do that on a single day with a single exam
Just like a highly academically qualified airline pilot every single time they take the controls of an airliner for a flight They have one chance to get it right They can't go back for seconds because they wanted excuses for failing first time You aren't too bad when it comes to looking for excuses, but to compare a Pilot flying a plane with the someone sitting a one off exam is a bit too silly even for you. You raised one off exams as a reason for bitter 11+ failures and assorted lefties despising selective education yet do not understand an appropriate ''one off'' analogy Your problem , not mine

"your ilk comment" is just silly and doesn't say much about your level of commonsense. Why would I want to take anyone's success away from them? I'm a great supporter when it comes to fairness and reward for effort. I'm a typical capitalist, just not a right wing one. PS. I've played and sang in gigs in the Cavern Liverpool, in other places in England in front over a thousand people and as far as Ireland, last played at a wedding in Ireland in Clontarf Castle in Dublin. Its a great world isn't it?

There may be some rethinking on your part, but no back peddling on mine. My "ilk" --- moderate, fair and justified capitalism? seems OK to me. Your pre-judging of my posts might appear to refute it. Just comparing my musical successes with those of your mates.

As previously stated you are incapable of understanding an analogy regarding circumstances YOU raised Your problem , not mine Don't be silly, your analogy was a case of chalk and cheese, and clearly you can't even see it. Keep on wasting your time digging, that is your choice.

Yes there is . You whined about using the term ‘ your ilk’ then falsely redefined it . That’s typical of your ilk. Nope..your posts seem to refute it . I repeat..so what ?
