This demonstrates the situation very well and in detail.

Well that settles it for me. If GB News is attacking it then it must be a good thing.

Todaysthe day.... The Scottish Government’s controversial new hate crime law came into effect on Monday. The Hate Crime and Public Order (Scotland) Act was passed by MSPs in 2021, consolidating existing hate crime legislation and creating a new offence of stirring up hatred against protected characteristics, although sex has been omitted in favour of a standalone Bill designed to tackle misogyny.

A number of readers of the DT have mentioned in their letters that they consider the speech made by the first minister about the fact that most of the senior figures in Scotland are white was hurtful to them and thus falls into a reportable category. That could be interesting. You can judge this for yourselves, www.youtube.com/watch?v=FI3JBBlmej4&ab_channel=RomaInvicta

I think that if the tweet can still be read after 1st April then it can be the reason for the Police to launch an investigation, Police Scotland have pledged to investigate every alleged case. I don't necessarily see an issue with that - with one caveat, allegations that are clearly false should see the accuser investigated for wasting police time, and possibly libel. All The Best

Perhaps a more cogent question would be to ask why Scotland still needs its own legal system after more than three centuries in the Union? What is the practical benefit and what is the incremental cost? Exactly, abolish division. Have one legal system for the whole UK. Abolish devolution. Cut costs. Unite our country. Would you therefore support the abolition of certain Religious Minorities being allowed to have separate courts that can deliver verdicts counter to British Law? All The Best

If you were paying attention you would already have known that the police can't actually investigate an anonymous accuser.

I believe in a secular society. Religious people can believe whatever but they have to obey the same laws as the rest of us.

I was asking Vinny a question. I don't need a personal bot. Thanks.

Would you obey blasphemy laws? There are none. They were abolished in England & Wales in 2008. All The Best Maybe so but that does not apply to the rest of the country. The common law of blasphemy was only abolished in Scotland today and blasphemy remains an offence in Northern Ireland.
