Penny the Naval rating has several things going for her: She's attractive and people vote for good looking people - it's true. She is extremely eloquent in the House and has demolished several people with her oratory. She carries a heavy sword well. On the other hand, she's not quite sure about the trans thing and women with penises. Unless she firms up on that, I wouldn't vote for her. Actually, considering the (lack of) performance of this bunch of unfunny comedians I'd never vote Tory again. She is a good candidate which is why, if she's got any sense she will step back from any leadership challenge. Thanks to Sunak the Tories are going to get wiped out, why would anyone with any nous want to step in now. There is without a doubt talented proper centre right Conservatives in the party, but it's too late. Anyone with any serious ambition of becoming the next Conservative prime minister should step back and wait for the dust to settle, and that wont be for a couple of years yet. There isn't any talent. You want to hear a joke. It goes Rishi was the only talented one. It's true in a relative sense. Rishi is quite a dab hand with the numbers, but that is not saying a lot. You also have to factor in the screwed up nature of the wider party itself in voting for Truss. Wherever you look with that lot there is faulty goods, and it may well implode entirely. Like you say, who would want to lead that lot and the answer is someone dumb. After that ask the same again and the reply is someone even dumber. It could just spiral downwards into ever-increasing chaos. |
