Richard Tice says that this is the first of many - I wouldn't be surprised if a few MPs were thinking of moving and talking to Reform

The Tories should stand aside and give Reform a clear run.

Nine conservative MP's in talks with Reform . We have heard this all before when UKIP peaked but with the Conservatives going down it could happen . Getting re-elected though under a different banner will be the big challenge

The Tories should stand aside and give Reform a clear run. Do you think many traditional tories will vote reform? There Switching to labour Age will continue to be the key dividing line at the general election. The Tories are now the most popular party only among the over-70s, 43% of whom back the party. This is down from 67% in 2019, however, with Labour being the main beneficiaries, having increased their vote share among the oldest Britons from 14% to 23%. Britons in their 60s are split, with 33% backing Labour and 31% the Conservatives. The majority of Britons under-50 now say they will vote Labour.

YES Of course there are Tory MP's in talks with Reform UK, after all, what have they got to lose ?
Its rather like offering a Rat on a sinking ship the opportunity to join another ship, which will probably also sink.

What happened to 30p Lee’s support for the idea that those MPs who change party while sitting should resign and fight a by-election…?

I see this has the lefties rattled. Labour supporters must be whooping with delight at the prospect of a new party kicking lumps out of the Tories when the election comes…

I expect that related to MP's who chose to change Party. As we know Mr.Anderson was rendered Partyless due to his suspension from the Conservative Parliamentary Party. He has currently been an Independent MP and as such was not a member of any 'Party' within Parliament. It wasn't his choice to become an Independent MP, it wasn't his choice to be removed from the Tories, hence I expect that from his perspective the only choice that he's making of his own volition is to join Reform.
From the voters viewpoint they voted to be represented by a Conservative MP. Rishi Sunak has the power to disregard their wishes and lumber them with an Independent MP instead. It was Sunak's decision rather than Anderson's that the people of Ashfield are not permitted to have an MP of the Party of their choice.

What odds another leadership challenge?..

I see this has the lefties rattled. Completely the opposite actually, because allthough SOME Labour voters in traditional working class areas will vote Reform, there is far more likelyhood of Reform splitting the Tory vote. Remember that in the Conservative Heartlands of the Home Counties and the South, there are many "traditional" Conservatives, who will not vote Reform, and who will reject the far Right. I have always believed that there is no place in Britain for politics of the far Left or the far Right, and I still hold to that belief. Whilst Reform may have some limited success, they can never garner enough support to have any real influence, no different to the BNP, UKIP or George Galloways political party.
