That's the excuse used now for not prosecuting women who falsely cry rape - that it will discourage others from coming forward. Well I don't accept that, it would certainly stop women from lying about rape. Quite a number of men have gone to prison after false allegations of Rape over the years which does nothing to help those who have genuinely been raped This woman lied and lied about being raped and trafficked A woman who falsely claimed she had been raped and trafficked by an Asian grooming gang has been found guilty of perverting the course of justice. Eleanor Williams, 22, of Barrow-in-Furness, was found guilty of eight counts at Preston Crown Court. She posted photos on social media in May 2020 of injuries she said were from being beaten but the jury heard she inflicted the wounds on herself. One man told the court the false accusations had "ruined" his life. How a woman's gang rape lies sparked outrage Her Facebook post was shared more than 100,000 times and sparked demonstrations in her home town, however, the court heard this was a "finale" to her story and she had injured herself with a claw hammer. And of course if they'd had their balls cut off as suggested who’d trust the justice system?

With respect, Emma Katz is talking shite. In the Met rape investigators are called “SOIT” (Sexual Offences Investigation Trained) officers. The majority of SOIT officers are women and most, based on their experience, end up extremely cynical about rape allegations. A personal friend of mine, now retired, was a SOIT officer for over 10 years and she doesn't believe that she dealt with a single genuine case in all of that time. In the end she moved on to other roles as she became sick of having to treat obvious liars and nutcases as if they were genuine victims of crime. She believes that many genuine victims never come forward but lots of vengeful exes, attention seekers and fantasists do. Of course, no one in an official position will ever admit the elephant in the room but her experience is far from unusual – I know several other former SOIT officers whose views are very similar. And that's the real reason that the clear up rate for rape is so low: Because so many rape allegations are false in the first place.
That's the reality.
From the article linked to the tweet: "According to the most reliable data we have, the average adult man in England and Wales aged 16 to 59 has a 0.03 per cent chance of being raped over the course of a year (based on 2016-17 figures). The best data we have — the number of people prosecuted for making false allegations — suggests that the average adult man in England and Wales has a 0.00021281 per cent chance of being falsely accused of rape in a year. (That’s based on 35 prosecutions for false rape allegations in 2011 compared to 16.5 million men aged 16 to 59 living in England and Wales at the time)."

Ok,so we base the figures for female rape by prosecutions too now do we ? The less prosecutions equal less rape . Well that’s one way to get the figures down .

"Government failing majority of British population"
Well yes clearly.
Minorities seem to take precedence over majority in the UK these days.
Tell us something we don't know.

They were talking about that case on the radio. The family of the perpetrators appeared on Newsnight two years ago. The BBC used the angle of false accusations against asylym seekers after one of the brothers was found not guilty of attacking a different women two years ago. That went well for the BBC lol.

DARE I Suggest A Government Cover up I've still seen cases in the news, but then I've seen plenty of white men committing sex crimes too. To be honest I think there is so much sex crime that only the victims that shout the loudest get heard. Predatory men know this, so they pick vulnerable victims who will not have family and friends that will fight their corner. This makes it easy for the police to brush it off as consensual, even when they are underage.

There was a law introduced in 2003 that made it Easier to prosecution of Groomers It's been used ever since . Like you Said the police are probably Swiping it under the Carpet. They not learned.

Governments have been failing since ive been alive which is 66 years. There are so many variables im sure that one man cant address it all. The problems that the PM deals with are put beforee him by some faceless people, in many ways he is blinded, and only fire fights.
Government departments fail daily, the minister in charge has no power, look at Patel and Braverman, the boats crisis would be over in a second othorwise. Government is about paper shuffling, very little gets done, the frame of reference is about now, and winmning votes, not doing the right thing.
Parliament, democracy has feet of concrete.
