Here is one of the really big problems ... In 2010 the Prime Minister David Cameron started cutting police numbers, this went on through Theresa May's term, and a total of 20,00 officers were cut from the ranks in just England and Wales. Along came Boris Johnson and he decides "This Was Wrong", and so he then embarks upon recruiting the 20,000 officers that the other two Tory Prime Ministers got rid of. To a large degree this has not repaired the damage done, because MOST of the 20,000 who were cut, were long serving, experienced officers. In their place has come young, inexperienced and it seems in many instances, not very professional officers. To make matters worse, other key areas which affect crime directly have all suffered from cuts, funding decreases and demoralized staff, in particular Mental Health Services, which today are in an appaling state. www.youtube.com/watch?v=q9-0WGo9ZrkAs far as I am aware they simply did not replace Officers who had left the Police early ,or those who had reached retirement age another problem in the Police Service is suicides from 2019 to 2023, 1172 Senior police officers, 3312 Police officers (sergeant and below) and 3315 Police community support officers killed themselves

where most cases of the crime have no physical evidence and are just 'he says, she says' I would have thought it extremely difficult to meet the threshold of 'beyond reasonable doubt' to gain a conviction. what is your solution ttl? That is the problem it often boils down the victims word against the alleged rapist, he also forgot to mention that it is not just girls and women that are raped, but boys and men as well IMHO many rapes are not reported the victims keep quite, especially if it happens within a family There is no solution IMHO that is not the fault of the Government there is either sufficient evidence for the CPS to charge or there isn't' , one women pressure group wanted the threshold of evidence to be reduced in order to secure more convictions for Rape cases, none starter IMO Yes many women have been murdered , but more men have been murdered and some murdered by woman, which has nothing to do with Couzens conviction

The Police are suffering from similar problems experienced in the NHS, record numbers are leaving, and retirement is no longer the number 1 cause of officers leaving.
Pay and conditions, presures of the job and treatment from the government are cited as prime reasons (The Independent), and the situation is now threatening Boris Johnsons target to recruit 20,000 officers which was met in 2022.
As with all public services, its a lack of appreciation from the government, cuts, underfunding, pay freezes, terms and conditions whereby the government want more for less, the presures of work, morale and the decline in Real Terms pay.

The NHS has too many Patients , the Police in England and Wales only have just over 130,000 Officers to look after just under 60 million people there are not enough of them to deal with the amount of calls they get 24/7, here in London thanks to the big Protests week in week out 2,000 are taken off their normal duties to deal with them

They are too busy kneeling in front of protestors flouncing around Pride and taking blankets and tea to idiots who glue themselves to our streets....Ring 999 for a gender crime and they will solve it straight away. Burglary Britain: Fury as police failed to solve a single break-in across HALF the country in three years: Ex-victims' commissioner blasts 'empty gestures' to drive down crime and warns crooks get a 'free hit' to ransack homes..... Police have failed to solve a single burglary in neighbourhoods across nearly half of England and Wales in the past three years, leading a former victims' commissioner to blast the force's 'empty gestures' to drive down crime. An analysis of police data from 30,100 neighbourhoods found that in 48.2 per cent, no break-ins had been solved in the past three years. The data includes the time since England and Wales's 43 chief constables pledged in October 2022 that their officers would visit the scene of every burglary. www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13152403/Police-failed-solve-single-break-half-country.html

Dose lie with the Govemoment .partly because a judge has thrown a case out of Court because the CPS hasnt presented convincing evidence also has well has poor convictions rates .there was very poor prosecutions think it'd increased a bit know. But I think it could lie with the police not taking the woman's claim of Rape serious.

Labour has increased pressure on Rishi Sunak over rape conviction rates over recent weeks after a highly critical report on misogyny in the Metropolitan police by Louise Casey. There has been a "completely unacceptable" collapse in rape prosecutions in England and Wales despite a record number of cases, MPs say. The Home Affairs Committee has called for more funding for prosecutions and better support for rape victims What do the figures show? Police in England and Wales recorded 67,125 rape offences in the year to December 2021 - the highest recorded annual figure to date. In 2020-21 there were just 1,557 prosecutions, compared with 2,102 in the previous 12 months. Over the past four years, rape prosecutions in England and Wales have fallen by 70%.

Official figures published by the ONS show that in England and Wales, college.police.uk 5 Suicide prevention in policing: Current landscape 163 police officers’ deaths between 2011 and 2019 were classified as suicide or of undetermined intent. Of these, 146 were men and the remaining 17 were women. In addition, the deaths of two male police community support officers (PCSOs) were also classified as suicide during this period (ONS, 2019)

Trouble is that unless there is some compelling evidence of force or coercion, rape is extremely difficult to prove . Some people want the evidence to be stacked against the accused but that isn’t the answer . Rape should not be a subjective crime .

Double the amount of police.
If you are convicted of rape you have your balls cut off.
If you lie about being raped you hang.
Problem solved.
Can you imagine all these people calling for tougher action on violence against women agreeing to this though... not a chance lol.
