Oh look, another tedious left wing "Blame the pensioners" thread. 🙄 The one benefit that most recipients have actually paid for and yet they still get to "Enjoy" the worst pension of any comparable European country. Meanwhile we continue to dole out barrow loads of money to spongers who've never contributed a penny. Go figure. Would that be spongers that pay towards Your income and your luxury social services pension.

Enjoy your shit pension that you earned by your jealousy of other pensioners . Me? I might buy a 4x4 with my extra pension and drive through puddles next to the bus stop .

So public sector workers cannot have wage rises to match inflation But pensioners can have pension rises almost double the rate of inflation, now I wonder why ? LETS LOOK AT THE EVIDENCE Age groups of those who voted Conservative at the 2019 general election, in the 18 to 24 age range less than 30%, in the 25 to 34 it was the same. However, in the 65 and over age range, the percentage of voters who voted Conservative was almost 60% So there you have it I think you have a point - the Labour Party should stand on a policy of scrapping the triple lock for pensioners. That will teach the Tories.

Over the years we have raised the state pension age from 60 to 66 for women, which, in the case of my wife, robbed her of about £48,000. In my case raising it from 65 to 66 robbed me of about £9000. Then we had a bit of a Covid cull of the elderly which must have saved billions. Rishi suspended the Triple Lock one year, and pensioners have not caught up since.
How badly should pensioners be treated?

How badly should pensioners be treated? It doesn't end there, if they are fortunate enough to own their homes outright, and have the misfortune of needing extra care in their old age, the government will take their homes off them, flog them off to pay for their over inflated care home fees, while being neglected and mistreated to boot.

Yup. Care homes staffed by imported cheap labour . The pensioner haters will console themselves while they are lying in a pool of piss waiting next to the bloke who owned a home for the care worker to change the nappy with both too frightened to complain. Thats equality for you.

You worked longer to afford the state pension it's the second digest expenditure in public funds it just can't go on. With a aging population.

That's the worst thing about having private care providers
