People receiving New or Basic State Pension payments are set for a major change in the amount they receive. Chancellor Jeremy Hunt confirmed that payments will rise for millions of Brits by 8.5 per cent from April 8, 2024. This can't go on especially when them that work hard don't receive as much increase in there wages Annual growth in regular earnings (excluding bonuses) was 7.3% in August to October 2023, this growth continues to remain strong but is not as high as in recent periods; annual growth in employees' average total earnings (including bonuses) was 7.2% in August to October 2023.12 Dec 2023 www.ons.gov.uk › bulletins Average weekly earnings in Great Britain: December 2023 We don't have infinite money. Correct, 'we don't have infinite money'. Which is why rather than penalise pensioners the government should stop paying benefits to illegals who have contributed not one thin penny to this country and should not be in this country.

This article is more than 4 months old Cost of housing asylum seekers in hotels rises to £8m a day, says Home Office...

Where's the like with knobs on button ? Pensioners are first in the queue for most people and illegal immigrants shouldn't even be in it

Are you saying your NI just goes on your pension nothing eles that's what Im asking not how long you worked for No Im saying how much you have paid in (30 qualifying years ) decides if you get the full pension . So you no idea how you're NI Is split to other things not just the state pension. Your NI contribution goes to other benefits has well has state pension Gose to other state benefits survivor’s benefits, disability benefits, unemployment, etc 2020, the contribution rate is 15.1% in Ireland, 20.4% in the United Kingdom and 28.3% in Spain. Countries with higher pension contribution rates often have above average pension benefits (as in the case of France, Italy and the Netherlands). www.oecd-ilibrary.org › sites Mandatory pension contributions | Pensions at a Glance 2021

Not correct. If you are unemployed you still have your national insurance paid. Pension Credit is paid on your income that you receive as a pensioner and is not based on NI contributions. PCGC will top up your SRP to your basic living needs. Yes I know , you are agreeing with what I am saying No, I'm saying that your assumptions are incorrect. I gave you a better explanation. Not quite sure how you've interpreted that as me agreeing with you? 🤷🏻

In the glam scheme of things how much we pay Asylum seekers I's a pin drop in the ocean of public spending especially compared to state pension. Any way the money come form the foreign Aid fund. So it doesn't matter how much we spend on Asylum seekers it's still accounted for

This article is more than 4 months old Cost of housing asylum seekers in hotels rises to £8m a day, says Home Office... Can you imagine how better off government coffers would be if we didn't have hundreds of thousands of illegals in this country. It's not just the £8 million a day hotel bill, that's the tip of the iceberg. The true financial cost of the illegal invasion from the EU is for obvious reasons hidden. The cash we have handed to the French government in an attempt to encourage them to police their own borders is eye watering: 2014: £12 million - Plus an additional £2.7 million for security improvements at Calais. 2015: £10 million 2016: £17 million - Plus an additional £36 million to strengthen the 'French' border and maintain juxtaposed controls. 2018: £45.5 million 2019: £3.25 million - Plus an additional £2.25 million to pay for Gendarme Reservists. 2020: £28.1 million 2021: £54 million 2022: £62.2 million 2023 to 2026: £476 million. Etc etc etc. And still they come.

Work out how much that I's a year then compare it to how much state pension cost a year.

This year alone 2023-24, the government is expected to spend £265.5bn on paying pensions and benefits, just over half of which (£134.8bn) goes on benefits to pensioners. £134.8bn And it increases year on year It's crazy to say the country will save a fortune Especially when you compare the state pension To NHS government is expected to spend £245bn on health.

Your explanation may have been more to your own liking but it came to the same conclusion which to be honest what with trying to get a grip with what lefty is on about Ive lost what this is all about , Oh yes paying pensioners their dues ? For or against will do .......
