But why would anyone vote Tory now? - they are to all intents and purposes New Labour.
Wait until the Marxist old guard start running off at the mouth. Then voting for "Not Labour" will become the default option.
But that only takes you so far - voting Tory because they are not Labour is fine, but if all you get at the end of it are Labour policies what is the point? You cannot name a single conservative policy that this shower espouses - their default answer to any problem is exactly the same as Labour, throw taxpayers money at it. Hence we have ended up with the highest tax burden since WW2 and the highest public spending in 4 decades.

Imo there is zero chance of state pensions being raised £75 per week but what is your objections to old people being paid a decent pension ? Unemployment benefits are supposed to be temporary , unlike state pensions .

pacifico >> "A real conservative would have cut the bloated public spending budget rather than raise taxes"
Public services in the area where I live are now so bloated that the AVERAGE wait time for a 999 call foe an ambulance is over half an hour.
We once had a properly functioning police station covering a population of 25,000 people and hundreds of square miles of country, coast and moorland.
There was a serious fire not too long ago in the roof and top floor of a famous fish restaurant, the fire service could not tackle the blaze properly because the nearest telescopic ladder fire engine was 20 miles away.
We have just had one of those "new 40 hospitals" which that liar Boris Johnson boasted about, opened in the town ( Whitby ), it replaced the old one, its less than half the size of the one they demolishes, has a fraction of the beds, has less staff and offers fewer services - but its a statistic, a new hospital.
I remember the days when you could get a GP appointment in 2 or 3 days - now its 2 or 3 weeks
There are people isolated and marooned in villages through cuts to bus services, I know of young people who had to give up jobs when evening bus services were withdrawn due to cuts.
Estate roads and paths are no longer cleared or treated in icy weather or when there is snow, including housing complex's for older people.
Local NHS waiting lists are appaling, waiting times are massively worse than in 2010, and the other day someone filmed FOURTEEN emergency ambulances queuing at the nearest A&E department.
Everything has got worse - public services are in a deplorable state, and even the staff are now been told YET AGAIN, that they must have a below inflation pay rise, or possibly ANOTHER pay freeze, on top of all the others in recent years.
There s no room for austerity, the bones are bare, we have got to have tax rises, particularly upon the very wealthy, upon the most valuable properties, upon excessive profits, a land tax on speculators who sit on land waiting for the price to go up.
A penny on income tax, and new rules on Non-dom residents to provide the proper resources for our NHS
Wikipedia: The majority of people making use of the non-domiciled tax exemption are wealthy individuals with substantial income from outside of the United Kingdom. Typical non-domiciled UK residents include senior company executives, bankers, lawyers, business owners and international recording artists
But no more cuts to public services

Victor - you complain about not being able to get a GP appointment for 2 weeks. Well the shortage of GP's is mainly down to the excessive amount of tax they have to pay - and now you are arguing for higher taxes.....
You cannot tax your way to success..

I agree we were short of GP's before Covid, many are retiring or have retired due to taxation and age, it appears that some do now know that GPs are independent contracts and for each appointment they keep see a patient, they are paid just under £40 by the NHS

A real conservative would have cut the bloated public spending budget rather than raise taxes. Bloated in your imagination only. The public sector has already been cut to the bone after a decade of austerity.

The lefty loons won't be able to keep their gobs shut as they near the GE. Plenty of time to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. But why would anyone vote Tory now? - they are to all intents and purposes New Labour. So is Labour. And we call ourselves a democracy. Where is the democratic choice?

Imo there is zero chance of state pensions being raised £75 per week but what is3 your objections to old people being paid a decent pension ? Unemployment benefits are supposed to be temporary , unlike state pensions . I think the proposed state pension increase of £75 pr week is scandeless . 1 a single / couple do not receive has much in unemployment benefits has a Single/couple oap in receate of state pensions. 2 state pensions are not means tested like unemployment benifits are if you have savings of more than 6, 000 you cant recive unemployment benifits but if your one of the 1% wealthiest you still get state pension credits. You can have private pensions and still receive state pension credits

Yea unemployment benifits are supposed to be temporary did you also miss im against the proposed increase because state pension is not means tested meaning the top 1% wealthest will be in receate of state pension .
Also them that have private pension are in receate of state pensions.
In my opinion has early retied tax payer I think its a wast of billions of public spending money .
