Accusing a decent member of the forum of being a fool is personal abuse, TTL. I can see you know no better, but at the end of the day the current government failures have nothing to do with Brexit and everything to do with the damage and corruption within the system, which those who supported Leave wanted to address. I know FPTP disadvantages small parties, and looking at the choices on offer, centrist Labour or centrist Tory, I can see why some people may be thinking about PR, but it would be a slippery slope that would end majority governments in this country forever and there would be no going back. PR would see the birth of multi party coalitions that take months to form and never agree on anything. This is why the EU like PR, it it produces weak coalition governments rather than strong majority governments. FPTP is not perfect, indeed it is far from perfect, but PR cannot be the answer. |

I know FPTP disadvantages small parties, and looking at the choices on offer, centrist Labour or centrist Tory, I can see why some people may be thinking about PR, but it would be a slippery slope that would end majority governments in this country forever and there would be no going back.
