To win a general election and get into Number 10 means shouting over the heads of "activists" and talk to the electorate instead.
If Keir Starmer had of stuck to his original plan to spend £28 Billion per year, what exactly do you think the pundits, journalists, political editors and apologists for the Tory Party would have said and done. ?
They would have torn the policy apart, asking "where's the money going to come from" and "by how much will this add to national debt" and phrases such as "same old Labour, tax and spend" would be wheeled out.
A few short years ago borrowing cost almost nothing, but the costs have risen sharply, our growth is piss poor, and there are so many urgent priorities for what little money there is going to be floating around.
I would rather a politician be honest and say that we now cannot afford to do something, rather than pretend that we can still do all the great things we want, and be dishonest about it.

It is very obvious that some people have little better to do other than to attack Labour. But nobody shits on my shoes especially not ale house thinkers like yourself. Those who attack Labour usually denigrate, insinuate and or exaggerate things that are born from pure dishonest propaganda. Yep, real sad arsed individuals. There are no 'U' turns until the manifesto is produced even then intelligent individuals will take circumstances into account, bigoted Labour knockers will not. The money going into green energy has not been ditched altogether it has been halved due to the state of the economy.

Well-funded candidates are being chosen to stand against the party’s MPs who have failed to back an immediate ceasefire
…“People are talking to some independent candidates and donating serious amounts of money to help them run against the Labour party,” said one MP. “It’s astonishing – I’ve never known this level of funding and organisation. The anger is off the scale. We have to do so much to get those communities back on side. They want to teach the Labour party a lesson.”

And there are plenty of eating places that serve all sorts of food.

I wonder would you of posted anything from the Anti -semi in corbyn.leader ship I very much doubt it seeing how your a right-wing Alba party supporter Of course, in order to do that. you would actually need to find evidence of jew hatred, as opposed to criticism of the policy of israel.
And the first problem you need to decide what to do about is the use of the term anti-semitism, which the jews have stolen as a phrase so they can deny the humanity of the other semitic grouos in the region, namely the ones they are bombing and shooting.
The other point of course is rather significant numbers of members of parliament on ALL sides are "Friends Of Israel", a nice little phrase which they would like you to think means "invitees to the odd barmitzvah tea party" wen in fact it means "receipient of momey from the state of israel to influence their thinking". As in brown envelopes in long trouser pockets, the sort of stuff they threw Neil Hamilton out of the tory party for not doing

Typical Righty dishonesty, only half of the plan has been ditched, and the desire for the full £28bn. is still alive. Nearer the truth is that the Conservatives have diched half of the £28bn. through their failure to protect the economy.

Just more childish Labour denigration by stupid Tories who prefer denigration to debate.
