A U Turn made by an opposition party whilst in opposition is never a broken promise, but on the other hand a set of pledges made by a governing party whilst in government is an entirely different matter.
There are so many memme's on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram today taking the piss out of Fishy Rishi with his flipboard and "teacher telling the children" party political broadcast, its embaressing.
I wonder what the odds are at Ladbrokes for a thousand asylum seekers to be deported to Africa before the election, or what the next insensetive blunder will be, or how much lower can the Conservatives go in the polls.

Total bollocks WF a pledge is a pledge and starmer is a master at it. Whatever the arsehole pledges today will not be valid whithin a few hours. And if you are so fucking concerend about asylum seekers there is no way you would support a lying bunch of arseholes like labour.

Its one of the reasons why I would not consider voting Conservative at the election, and why I will be voting Labour. Because the Conservatives have done nothing, except to cut the budget of the UK Immigration & Border Force and slash the numbers of officers. One of a four part Labour plan ....... Set up a 1,000 strong Returns Unit to ensure failed asylum seekers and others with no right to be here are removed. Sunak has failed on most of his pledges and promises, they have had 14 years, at least give Labour a chance to do something, it cant be any worse.

Well we have umpteen threads running on the performance of the Government - anything to say about Ed Milibands sudden conversion?

If the ruling party can’t/couldn’t deliver it shouldn’t have given the undertaking…

As we have seen in the EU going green has its consequences .When they made up this programme of self harm from which Millipeed was only too happy to fall in line with they forgot about the people they needed to be onboard with it , the farmers . Its no surprise that Labour have ditched their green policies in the very same week that the EU have rowed in on theirs . Protesting farmers across the continent have given Von der Leyen a clear message that they are having none of it and the EU President has decided to delay the battle with them till after the EU elections . The rural communities are a big part of any vote and the EU don't want disgruntled farmers turning to the right ,they will pick up where they left off after the June elections and tell Millipeed what the new plan is going forward . And that will be the new labour green policy

Ed Miliband ‘to support Labour ditching flagship £28bn green pledge’ following speculation he could resign Sir Keir is expected to announce that Labour is dropping its staple £28 billion environmental policy on Thursday. Shadow climate secretary Ed Miliband is expected to rally behind the U-turn despite initial speculation he could resign over the move, The Telegraph reports. Mr Milband was a key figure behind by the flagship policy, which had originally been criticised by the Tories for being unaffordable. Reacting to the planned U-turn, Chancellor Jeremy Hunt hit out at the Labour party, as he wrote on X: “After four years of Sir Keir Starmer’s leadership it seems like Labour’s only economic plan is to copy the Conservatives. “But if their policies flipflop like this in opposition, what sort of chaos would the British people have to endure if they got into power?” While Tory MP Simon Clarke wrote “Chaos with Ed Miliband”, referencing a tweet made by former PM David Cameron in 2015 about the shadow climate secretary www.lbc.co.uk/news/ed-miliband-to-back-labour-green-pledge-u-turn-keir-starmer/ There is no flip flop or 'U' turns until the Manifesto is produced. Only then will the open minded be able to ascertain just what direction Labour intend to take the country in if elected. It is obvious to intelligent individuals that no cast iron guaranteed promises can be made by any political party, the only guaranteed promises that can be made are the promises a Party can make about the direction it will take take when in office. To do anything other than that would require an ability to see into the future.

Don't be daft, Starmer was drumming up the green votes and he's had to come clean because his MPs are making fools of themselves every time they 'can't answer' the simple question ...."Where is all this money coming from"?
He knows he has to put that in his manifesto and divulge where he's getting all this money from, even scatter cash himself knows the maths don't stack up, on the run up to a GE meaning 'now', he should have the very basics for his up and coming manifesto, when is he going to produce it the week before the GE so he can see what way the tide is flowing.
