I notice another ‘ let them eat cake ‘ net zero zealot glibly dismisses the people’ on low incomes’ while putting on his pedant hat .

As a mod in a failed forum far far away used to say ‘ specsavers are open today’.

So why did you post countering my post saying they are not being abolished? Just to cause trouble perchance? They are being abolished . You admitted it . You admitted that they are being abolished for people in low incomes and the fact that there is no great effort to create an infrastructure to facilitate them tells us that it will not just be low incomes . Did your pedant hat fall over your eyes ?

Go on show us that it is a government policy to ABOLISH all personal transport. Well, let's see: ULEZ - soon to become pay-per-mile for all vehicles. Low Traffic Neigbourhoods 20 mph speed limits Tolls on tunnels and bridges Traffic lights phased to slow traffic Coordinated roadworks to make travel a nightmare Ban on repairing older cars Car Free Zones Less road space and more cycle lanes
Increasing road tax Etc etc
...it's just going to be impossible for those on low incomes to have one. Well, that's a partial admission then: So you accept that people on low incomes will be priced off the road. Now it's just a question of how low is low?

If unrestricted personal mobility as a universal entitlement is the political objective it sounds like what is needed is a real 'People's Car'

Full stop.'No 'just for plebs' qualification that I can spot. Maybe you can invent one.
