Man Utd didn't think he was worth playing anymore. Spent more time on the bench than on the pitch. The ronaldo siutaion at man utd was never going to end well. You very rarely can go back to aclub in later years and re emulate the golden years you once had. Bad choice for a desperate team like man utd taking him in the first place , and bad choice for ronaldo going to a mediocre team far into its twilight years.
Anyway why are we talking about crap english premier league teams during the world cup?

Also, it was ''we'' who surrendered at Singapore. Scotland were then and still are a part of the Union. sorry monte i forget the golden rule. English when you win british when you lose. Exactly. You can have Andy Murray back now we've got a new bunch of successful young English tennis players on the up, although I suspect that none of them will reach the heights Andy achieved when he was British.

Because there aren't many players representing crap Scottish teams who made it to the Championship. Certainly no Scottish players made it, yet again.

Theres loads of players in japan , australia , croatia , canada , portugal and much more representing scottish teams. the point is we arent bringing up the personal issues of scottish premier league players into the world cup.
Ronaldo was and remains a "world class " player . Bringing a crap team like man utd , into the discussion simply beacuse an icon of the game is at the world cup who used to play for them is laughable.
Man utd wil never again in our lifetimes be the team they once were under a great scottish manager.....
Now we want to talk about quality teams , at a world premier footballing tournament , not the dregs of the englandshire premiership.

Also... did you see the videos of england fans throwing a right strop at merely drawing with the USA after their world beating performance against the mighty Iran? Sometimes , the politics and behaviour of the nice but dim fans are more interesting and humourous than the fitba.

Well we have to go back quite a way to find a Scottish team who won a European title. Lions of Lisbon was it or have you won one since?

Well you have to admit they had a point. I don't know that I'd have joined them in booing but it was a pretty poor performance.

When celtic won it , at least they won it with 11 scots , mainly from around the greater glasgow area. I cant think of a single english team to do the same , and in todays english club squads ( no laughing at the back please) you are hard pressed to find an englishman.

Its an achievement of a small nation that makes up a mere 40 % of the land of a group of small islands off the coast of europe with a population of 55 million drawing witha world superpower of 330 million whose country spans a continent with individual states bigger than them.

Well yes but when you can't beat a nation who think football is a game played almost entirely with their hands and soccer is for girls you have to be a little disappointed.

you say it so well monte.
Dont forget , the yanks dont even call it fitba , but "soccer". Still apparently they were impressed when your lot took the knee . Must of thought you were doing what your politicians do to their political elite , and genuflecting to them.
