So it's all right to commit human rights offences so long as the victims volunteered in the first place? You are not the first to say that here. I think some of the attitudes in this thread say more about the prejudices of those expressing them than the actual issues themselves. Perhaps exhibiting their desire to treat women, gays and immigrants in the same way in this country. Everyone who goes to work in the Middle East know what the place is like - but...they still go for the money. If they are not bothered why is anyone else? because many of them were conned into going, paying 'arrangement fees' up front by a loan from their employer who then could hold them captive and revise promised wages and accomodation down until this debt was paid off because Qatar doesn't let foreign workers leave if the employer says they are owed. Google Kafala Qatar It was effectively slave labour and many died

Well that was disappointing. It's up to Poland now to break their hearts. Although I should really be hoping that England can knock them out in a later round. Mind you, if England don't play a lot better against a very poor Wales on Tuesday I will really start to give up hope for their future in the competition.

It was gripping rather than quality but I'm hoping they can squeeze past Poland.

Great victory for Australia. Showing the same fortitude defending their one goal lead against an onslaught from the North Africans as their fellow Australians did holding Tobruk against Rommel's Axis forces. God save the King. fuck sake. lol Spat my coffee out.

A World Cup with an early exit for Argentina always loses something. Possibly THE most passionate about football nation.

I Dont know some of the Afican nations seen very passionate about football . the colour and celebration they bring to the terrances is something else.

They grow up with football, they play it at school, they play it in their back yards, they play it in the streets, we play football, they are forged by it.

Archer's omnibus or Japan v Costa Rica? Decisions, decisions. May have to watch the footie the sound off and do both.

Archer's omnibus or Japan v Costa Rica? Decisions, decisions. May have to watch the footie the sound off and do both. Most of the matches I record and watch on fast forward half by half allowing Mrs K to have the TV for her fare. May watch the second half live if something interesting breaks out but frankly I wouldn't cross the road to watch Japan - Costa Rica even if got to 3:3 at half time - and it won't. Spain Germany is today's must watch but I'm going out so will miss it

I think Japan are a team to watch who may advance further than any Asian team has before.

Well yes they should go through as long as they beat Costa Rica leaving Spain Germany as a game of death.
But just peeked at the current Japan Costa Rica score and 72 minutes gone and no goals and only 2 shots on target. A yawn fest game

Well this isn't the entertaining spectacle I was hoping for. I should have stuck with the Archers.
