Life is now hard for USA too. They are going to have to beat Iran in their final game unless England really screw things up later. Never underestimate England's ability to screw things up though.

NL could be in trouble here. Ecuador have been looking the better side in the second half. 1-1 with 20 mins to go.

Imagine the embarrassment if the USA beats England at England's own sport.
What do you think would be the outcome of games of England challenging the USA at baseball or American football?

I was wondering who would get to play in white. Both teams usually do but England seems to have called dibs.

Imagine the embarrassment if the USA beats England at England's own sport. What do you think would be the outcome of games of England challenging the USA at baseball or American football? England has never beaten USA in a competitive game of football. We lost to them 1-0 in the 1950 WC and drew with them 1-1 in the 2010 championship. Our only other competitive match in the short lived US Cup, in '94 I think, was a 2-0 loss. We have beaten them in all 8 of the friendlies we've played though.

The 1950-match was the one when reporters saw the score 0-1 they thought it was a typo. Surely it was 10-1.

USA more threatening in the final third than England.
England's passing has no purpose or pace. They've only mustered one attempt on target.

USA are pressing hard making it difficult for England to move the ball forward.
