MANCHESTER, England — After promising to end the deadliest rough-sleeping crisis in the U.K, Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham now has less than a year to prove his program has worked — and to convince Westminster it should be doing more to help. In a city where harsh winters make sleeping rough particularly dangerous, the Manchester government is trying to turn a successful emergency program into a sustainable, long-term solution, and perhaps a model for the rest of Europe. Launched in November 2018, a year after Burnham took office, the program, A Bed Every Night (ABEN), saw early success, providing shelter to 1,635 people in its first three months, for about £30 per person, per night. Just over a quarter, 466 people, later made a successful transition to stable housing, the mayor’s office claimed. A national count just weeks after ABEN’s launch found the number of people sleeping rough in Greater Manchester, 241, had fallen 10 percent — the first decline in eight years. Praise for Burnham’s crisis response has followed. “It’s like a torch in the dark,” said Louise Casey, the U.K.’s “homelessness czar” under former Prime Minister Tony Blair. “Permanently ending the need for rough sleeping within Greater Manchester now appears achievable.”

We dont want to hear more of your tory bad. What we want to know is if labour , yet again , can't sort a problem out in the one country they are in charge of governance , why should Scotland or England vote them in ?

Let John answer for himself , and you answer for your Labour Party please.

Tony Blair and the last new labour government had homelessness through the roof . what are you actually talking about? the number of homeless families in Scotland has decreased by 41% since the SNP came to power in 2007, having increased by many thousands under Labour’s rule.
Scottish Labour have, of course, always relied (usually fruitlessly) on the electorate having a short memory. But as a Labour government at Holyrood becomes a more and more distant memory, it’s a tactic they’ll probably deploy more and more often. And that’s why sites like this one are here to remember things, even when the Scottish press has forgotten which stories they ran two months ago

I have no words
Hamza Tosspot should go out and fucking hang himself
Not hang his head in shame FUCKING HANG HIMSELF FROM A LAMP POST
The man featured in this BBC News item is white, 37, has no visble facial tattoos, has a job working fifty hours a week in a fish and chip shop and has nowhere to call home
Now I'm sorry but when I was a schoolkid it was a fucking given that anyone, no matter how meagre their take home pay from a full time job, could expect to have somewhere found for them to live. The feckless idle, the drug wasters, a whole load of others could go whistle but if you were holding down a bloody job then you deserved fucking respect and rightly so, and a council place no matter how humble was part of the deal.
Well Hamza and his fucking SNP are well fucked on this score arent they
I don't care of he's frying fucking mars bars it is not unbelieveable that a bloke who OWNS a fish and chip shop would not as a matter of routine over seven days put in a fifty hour week and it stands to reason in my thinking that an employee at such an establishment that opens for lunchtime as well as evening and night time take away could easily put in fifty hours over the course of a week, and i don't know what that is in wonga but it bloody well ought to be enough to be aboe to afford somewhere.
The council says because he is not unemployed and becaue he os not a smackhead there is fuck all they can do for him

The point you spectacularly fail to address is that the SNP leader said this www.gov.scot/news/citizenship-in-an-independent-scotland/In short, he wants to work towards an independent scotland with few if any borders for outside migrants wishng to invade, yet he has nothing to offer this man. The suggestion i make is get your own fucking house in order and house your existeing citizens before making any more proud pakistani scotsmen to use his description of hmsef in the above
