Labour will replace 400,000 acres of British farmland with solar panels by 2030. Forcing us to import more food. Not to mention importing the solar panels. And when the sun doesn't shine, importing electricity. Net zero: zero independence, zero security. Simple, eat less meat and there will be plenty of land to go around. It's most likely to be pasture land used anyway as it's cheaper than arable land.

Remember this the next time anyone says we should listen to the experts.. 'assumptions underpinning the committee’s 2019 advice to ministers included a projection that in 2050 there would be just seven days on which wind turbines would produce less than 10 per cent of their potential electricity output. That compared to 30 such days in 2020, 33 in 2019 and 56 in 2018'
It wouldn't matter if there were no data at all, it is commonsense to clean up the atmosphere and commonsense not to exacerbate the heating up of the planet with man made greenhouse gasses, regardless of why the planet is heating up.

Sounds very much like a Beeching plan where they based much on a one week survey of passengers The Beeching plan was based upon the increasing use of personal transport, by Car.

It was needed because of that and that a transport secretary also owned a road construction company and Beeching's brief was to make the railways pay. He worked that out largely on a one week survey and ticket receipts.

So while the rich elite gobble steak and fly around in private Lear jets … and Green tax and lecture us to be net zero … while they drive up inflation with Sanctions …. we have to eat bugs and synthetic plant protein that looks like mushy offal steak … but tastes like sh*t?? … yeh … that sounds like the usual bit of advance that deserves shoving down their dead throats! … here’s a slogan that would work for us …. “Go Green … kill a Globalist today”…. I bet their scientists doing the maths on that … would result in the West achieving Net Zero much faster. 😂 …. It might just save the Planet.🤔

It's a way to mitigate climate change. Eat a few meat free meals every now and then. It won't kill you and it'll save you money.

It won't kill you and it'll save you money. I don't want to - if you want a salad then go ahead but don't tell others what they should eat.

If it wasn't causing a 'common harm' I wouldn't dream of it. I gave up smoking in public for the 'common good' even though it did great damage to the pub industry I work in. I don't see why you can't eat the occasional veg' curry.

LOL I had a homemade one for dinner, use up any leftover veggies. Waste not want not. Waste not, want not is how we save the world. I am the real deal Monte, we ate our food from the garden what we could afford came in brown paper bags and was mostly local produce. Nothing was wasted and any peel or leftovers went on the compost heap. I was looking after the local environment before you even knew it existed. No mad scientists required.

I've had a meat free diet for 40 years. I've not lived in a house for over 35 years. I've been using a composting toilet for the last 10 years. I don't just talk the talk.
