Anyway . If someone should have the right to get themselves executed if they happen to reach an arbitrary criteria ( Arbitrary..based on random choice or personal whim, r ather than any reason or system.) ie “ If I can’t recognise my wife” then should they be allowed to demand a different criteria ie “If I can’t remember my address ?” Also. Should we be allowed total control whether we get killed or not at time L we be able to choose whatever criteria we want ? Maybe a depressive should be allowed to decide that their lives are not worth living and be killed by the same people who killed the persons who can’t recognise their wife ? So that's your point. Someone else needs to set the criteria for you. Someone makes a set of rules for your execution and whether they fit you or not doesn't matter so long as they are the rules. Not for me. I'd rather decide MY reasons to want to die for MYSELF. Trouble is that you set the path . If you clear the path for someone to kill you for a whim ie I can’t recognise my wife ..then why can’t another person demand to get killed for not knowing their address or if they shake too much with Parkinson’s or if they run out of money ? And if you can clear the path for someone to kill you to save your family the decision then it has the potential for abuse . Older people can be coerced and emotionally blackmailed .

He wishes to control how transgender people live their life. Given his need to control how people live, it comes as no surprise that he also wants to control how they die. I find his arguments all get stuck at a point where he just repeats himself. But you might be right. Maybe he struggles to take responsibility and wants someone else to take it away.

Zanys decision isnt about considered decision. It’s about a self indulgent arbitary criteria to kill a version of himself that he has no idea whether would want to live or die . It’s a whim . It’s about a warm fuzzy white knight feeling right now. Okay. I can't understand it for you, Bentley. It's the opposite of a whim. If somebody makes a decision while compos mentis in 2020 and then becomes non-compos mentis in 2030, that's 10 years during which that person didn't revoke his decision. A decision that has been voluntarily kept in place for a 10 year period is the very opposite of a whim. ‘ I want someone to kill me if I can’t recognise my wife “is whimsical. It isn’t a rational decision . It’s a statement made by and for self indulgence. Ive explained that several times and it confirms my fear that you merely want a semantic argument . I can’t understand that for you.

I can’t understand that for you. Well, yes, I suppose the argument has become 'semantic'. You are basing your argument on an extraordinarily unusual understanding of the word whimsical. A considered and informed decision is the exact opposite of a whimsical decision. I don't know what else to tell you.

Could be. He doesn't appear to have much respect for personal choice. Mind zone . It's against Mind Zone rules to make arbitrary insults. It's not against Mind Zone rules to be make observations of actual fact which the person described finds insulting. That said, this is a serious topic worthy of serious discussion. I'll try to avoid mention of actual facts you find to be insulting (even if they are true).

Somebody who wishes to die because he doesn't want to be a burden to his wife is the very opposite of self-indulgent.

Somebody who wishes to die because he doesn't want to be a burden to his wife is the very opposite of self-indulgent. It’s exactly the right way round . He is making a self indulgent statement without knowing how he might feel when the time comes and using an arbitrary criteria. It looks more like short term fuzzy feelings than recognising how he might feel at the point he can’t reverse a decision made years ago . I can’t make you understand the obvious darling .
