Please refer to my previous post . All emotions are subjective. Moreover, a considered and informed plan made by a person who is compos mentis simply isn't arbitrary. Hard to see what you have left Arbitrary..based on random choice or personal whim, rather than any reason or system. Your ‘ plan’ consists of being killed when you reach an arbitrary criteria ie “ not being able to recognise my own wife“. You can’t get more arbitrary than that . At that point you have declared that you will be brain dead . A whimsical definition ( fanciful). You have no idea whether your life would be unbearable or not and at that point you would have no choice . It fits all of the criteria of being arbitrary . It isn’t rational it’s subjective and based on emotion . It’s more about feeling good about yourself now that a rational plan . Its probably oh the worst reason to have yourself killed that anyone could come up with .

That's your choice. Probably wise given the weakness of your arguments. All emotions are subjective. Moreover, a considered and informed plan made by a person who is compos mentis simply isn't arbitrary. Hard to see what you have left.This. Wrong .see previous post .

The reason has been explained to you several times. As it has to you …. personal whim,That's the problem right there. How can a considered decision be described as a whim? It's the very opposite of a whim, as different from a whim as black is from white.

Anyway . If someone should have the right to get themselves executed if they happen to reach an arbitrary criteria ( Arbitrary..based on random choice or personal whim, rather than any reason or system.) ie “ If I can’t recognise my wife” then should they be allowed to demand a different criteria ie “If I can’t remember my address ?” Also. Should we be allowed total control whether we get killed or not at time L we be able to choose whatever criteria we want ? Maybe a depressive should be allowed to decide that their lives are not worth living and be killed by the same people who killed the persons who can’t recognise their wife ?

Arbitrary means semi random, or without fore thought. But to take the time to write a living will and carefully decide the correct criteria to ensure the right outcome with no mistakes is not random or without fore thought. Its not arbitrary. So either explain HOW such a decision is arbitrary or stop just repeating it.

A whim is a sudden desire or change of mind. That is the opposite of a considered decision made after protracted thought. You're simply wrong.

Someone else needs to set the criteria for you. Someone makes a set of rules for your execution and whether they fit you or not doesn't matter so long as they are the rules. Not for me. I'd rather decide MY reasons to want to die for MYSELF.

It’s the infantile version of I want the dying to have the right to die with dignity and without pain.

He wishes to control how transgender people live their life. Given his need to control how people live, it comes as no surprise that he also wants to control how they die.

It’s about a self indulgent arbitary criteria to kill a version of himself that he has no idea whether would want to live or die . It’s a whim . It’s about a warm fuzzy white knight feeling right now.

If somebody makes a decision while compos mentis in 2020 and then becomes non-compos mentis in 2030, that's 10 years during which that person didn't revoke his decision. A decision that has been voluntarily kept in place for a 10 year period is the very opposite of a whim.
