I know that devolution hands control over to the devolved group. I am not remotely concerned about what Labour control, elected by Welsh people, do in Wales. I live in England, I'm 4rth generation English. I am concerned with what laws and regulations Parliament imposes on me. Aye....I bet you aren't concerned. There's plenty of non welsh people on these threads who consistently ask why if labour can't do much good in the one fiefdom they are in charge ,why should we elect them elsewhere based on their past and present puerile records of failure? There are different areas in all political parties, and the area apparently being offered by Labour at the next election has a good history in the past.

I lived in a gorgeous Welsh Valley complete with a local pottery, small river floating through and houses dotted about the hillsides, back in the 1940s, safe from Hitler's bombs. So my vote is to keep a welcome in the hillsides and keep a welcome in the vales. I thought you weren't remotely concerned about the welsh earlier...? Context, Welsh politics, very different to Welsh hillsides.

So this concerns us all , including the good people of Wales.

Operation Black Vote was supported by David Cameron in 2016, he'd hoped to use it to bolster the remain vote. He didn't expect large numbers of Black and Asian ethnic minorities not liking the EU and voting leave. Probably not Dopey Dave's smartest idea, but then again he never had many of them.
An extremely unscientific poll among my Black and Asian friends reveals sympathy for Brexit and the need for more ethnic policemen to hand out backhanders to wayward youth when necessary (which they deem most of the time)
I have experienced similar. Medically trained black friends are pro Brexit, a medically trained white friend is not, even though he concedes that the EU desperately needs reform.

I fink you are making that up Vincent. You are in denial about the inevitability of starmers upcoming coronation , and return to the EU. I feel your pain , honest. telling porkies though about black friends while ignoring the 73% who voted remain isnt the way to go though.

No idea what was posted.
But the country voted to leave the EU and we have. And independence from the EU has been rather good so far.

Once again, a highly unscientific poll, but in London I found that most of my white, middle class friends voted Remain. They liked the status quo. The ethnics on the other hand, veered towards Brexit.

I reckon that come the the General Election Sir Stodge will win by a landslide, but if he makes any move towards the EU other than taking Vickie on a saucy weekend to Paris, I bet that he will be out of office within 43 days.
If you win I will spend £20 on food for the local wildlife. If I win you do the same.

Im not surprised. The Welsh decide their own policies just as the Scots do. The Welsh and the Scots have their own governments. The Welsh will decide which of the politics on offer is best for them, not to be influenced by people like you or me. Perhaps the alternative to Labour in Wales is just too bad to be contemplated by the Welsh.

I hate taking money off you borkie , but I know the stupidity of labour better than you , and I bet you a forty that the uk will be in some from of BRINO deal behind the Brussels bike sheds within the term of the next parliament if its headed by a labour government. All donations sent to fanny hill , aka HMP Cornton Vale , and inmate Nicola sturgeon for her slush fund.

Another good thing that has come from our departure. The EU is reforming in a way that it never otherwise would have.
The Commission's powers of legislative initiative are being transferred to the Parliament. And the body is being replaced by a smaller executive of 17 people. Vetoes are out, so the Brussels Strasbourg merry go round will end.
Who knows what the organisation will look like in five years time.
But, if they'd reformed when David Cameron had asked them to, we might have voted to stay. And again, who knows what it would have looked like if they'd reformed a decade ago?
National governments would have got their sovereignty back. Free movement would have been replaced with earned movement perhaps?
It's all by the by anyway. We've left and we're not going back.
