They ceased to be that when New Labour took over. They are in fact now the party of affluent middle class liberal homeowners who have done well out of the Thacherite status quo, and hold the workers largely in contempt. They have bought into the thatcherite economic consensus lock, stock and barrel, and are currently run by a bunch of charlatans, shysters, and proven liars. Under New Labour "for the many not the few" meant just that. Under New Labour "for the many not the few" meant just that. NewLabour's flagship Equality Act in 2010 was the culmination when of the few having sway over the many and the many having to step aside so that the few could be serviced and become, given time, the many.

'The last straw' for farmers in the EUSSR: 'Work isn't appreciated, no prospects for family farms'
Why are you so obsessed with the EU when we are nit in it anymore? Is it an addiction? An obsession? Probably because you're in a Brexit related thread whinging about Brexit Britain. Jonsky's showing you that pining nostalgia for the imperial regulator isn't sunlit uplands. Just a thought.

Not sure of just what point you are making. You can say what the stated intent of an act is but one has to consider what it does in its practical application. It does not form a basic protection for all the above as in its clauses it clearly favours minorities especially racial minorities. The application of its powers by the EHRC is very selective in that the full force of its power is brought to bear in transgressions by the majority yet transgressions by the minorities are largely ignored. This is most apparent in the allowances for associations and pressure groups as well as political parties. The Equality duty incumbent on all public bodies actually works to the detriment of the racial majority if one couples its clauses with what is actually happening in society and the country at large and the upshot, if followed to its logical conclusion, will be the relegation of the racial majority to also rans in their country within a couple of generations. There is no other ethnic group in the world that would allow this to happen to them without some form of resistance as history shows only too clearly enacted out over the years in Ireland and the ME to name but two obvious cases.

Under New Labour "for the many not the few" meant just that. empty soundbite for the gullible. Well it is longer than the litany of three word alliterative slogans the Tories have tried to brainwash the public with.

The EU have left themselves wide open to abuse by Putin. I wonder whose idea that was? So the way to have gopd relations with Russia is to elevate one to the House of Lords for something or other. I wonder whose idea that was.
